Ikea are running a promo between the 19th & 29th November, where IKEA Family members will get an extra 20% back on used furniture prices. Currently you get a voucher refund of up to 50% of used furniture's price, so the 20% is on top of this. Free to signup to IKEA family.
How does it work?
Follow the step-by-step process using the buy back estimator tool (https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/customer-service/services/buy-back-pubc644de60). You pick the type of furniture it is, make a judgement of the condition, and it gives you an estimate of the buyback value.
You scan the QR code it gives, then need to take it into a participating store. There will be a physical inspection where the estimate will be reviewed and a final price confirmed
Example
Ikea family members will get an extra 20% on this price below from the 19th November.
Pricing structure
If Ikea accepts your products for resale, you will receive an IKEA refund card for the agreed amount.
Refund cards are redeemable for an unlimited period of time from the date of issue and can be used in store (excluding our Bistro's, Restaurants or Swedish Food Markets) or online, on all products except IKEA Food.

sorted byTypical that’s what would happen if I tried to take something back.
But thanks for the heads up op, didn’t even know this was a thing. Might take a look in bargain corner… (edited)
Imagine dismantling Pax wardrobes and transporting them back to store, can't be an easy job lol
Pricing below depending on condition (plus the extra 20% on top for IKEA family members)
no problem
it took me several weeks to build my pax lol doing a few hours here and there. I got a friend over to help me do the doors cos you need two ppl to lift them, it took about 5 hours just to assemble and hang them, whoops
But one thing I am not able to understand is how will they estimate the price of items that are no longer sold by IKEA? For example I have an IKEA tallboy bookcase. I can see IKEA is not doing similar ones now. So how the price will be determined. If someone can shed light please.
Would you undo all that hard work to possibly get "upto 50% back" I know I wouldn't 😬 oh and having a vehicle large enough to transport it back to store!!
That's covered in their terms and conditions of the offer.
They also do a physical inspection before offering their final valuation.
Also, can I be bothered with the faff of having to build them in the car park, as it's not like I own a van to get them there....
Not a best deal though
Very few items seem to be included. The TV unit we bought 3 years ago isn't in the list, even though it's still sold by IKEA.
thank you. That means we cannot Tarde those things that are not from the current stock.
If I take them all up to IKEA in the big estate car and they tell me they don't want them I'll then have to take them all back home again which also means I can't visit the store whilst I'm there because the car will be full of old units so I can't buy anything!
Is it really worth the cost of fuel to visit the store which is a fair distance away to see if they would accept them?
I don't want the stress of shoving them all on ebay as I need the space this weekend to start decorating and don't have anywhere to store them all in the meantime!
Has anyone taken anything back to IKEA that's on the list of furniture they'll accept that isn't a 'current' colour?
Have you used the form ? If it's not on the form then they won't accept it. I think you're overthinking it.
My sister would renovate furniture every 7 years in that case.
I'd probably be interested only because of the program. But the program might not be around for that long. Plus never visiting a store to buy something, they make you walk till your shoes are worn out that you come back with bare feet.
They don’t appear to be
Yeah shame
