Most games coming out now are over 100gb's each and the numbers only seem to be going up.
Bargain price though.
My last misprice cancellation with Box I think was cancelled next day, it was a while ago though and it was an obvious misprice. This was only a little cheaper than direct from Samsung with a perks at work discount so there is a possibility this is a genuine sale price that was maybe intended to go live tomorrow? I think it was likely a misprice, but it is possible it will be honoured.
He shouldn't get punished for that though. He scored me and others a fantastic deal. Goes on his hduk account as a bog standard deal.
There should be incentives to post these short life deals or people might not bother.
According to the article linked at the top, it is the preferred part number. Although, in day to day usage, I doubt I would notice the difference.
Mine is made in Thailand, production date 2021 10 08.
Mine's thankfully the older model. Just turned up now.
The new box removes the markings on the controller chip, I think so they can put either one in the same box moving forwards. The older controller chip is the Phoenix controller it was originally marketed with, part number on the label should be MZVLB1T0HBLR and the newer one is actually the newer Elpis controller made for their 980 Pro PCIe 4.0 drives that is backwards compatible, part number on the label should be MZVL21T0HBLU.
As for which is better, that is not really as straight cut as the older is the better from what I am reading, since along with the change to controller they also increased the amount of SLC cache from 42GB to 115GB. The new drive is actually faster until the cache is exhausted and then slows to about half the speed of the old drive once the cache is exhausted. hotukdeals.com/dea…900
That's what I am waiting for as well.
Yep, very scummy of them, but this price makes it acceptable. Quite the discount. I don't need it but i've ordered one (this site will bankrupt me). It's a fair old upgrade on my WD Green m.2 drive anyway!
Just missed out.
"The newer version—part number MZVL21T0HBLU—is considerably slower.
According to test results, the newer version only manages 830MiB/sec—half the performance of the original".
