To be fair this could be £26 and I still couldn’t afford to run it!

We had one a few years ago was good for about 4 months then novelty wore off, expensive to run, probably cost around £4-5 a day if not more.

If you have romantic ideas the first time someone goes in with foundation or fake tan it looks like someone just kacked in the water. (edited)

Bought one late last year and still in the box. Will probably sell it now as it will cost a fortune to run when the new price cap kicks in on the 1st April.

All these inflatable spa companies will no longer exist this time next year unless something drastically changes.
They went through a crazy demand during covid and now they probably sell a few units nationwide each week, will be a sad time for their staff unfortunately who will also have huge energy bills (edited)

Can you not just use it as a cold pool?
I wouldn’t want warm water in summer

What's the running cost during summer?

On a 4 peason lazy spa one I was paying about £11 a week on a decent fixed tariff. Now that tariff has ended I expect it will be £30 plus a week come April.

Possibly more than your mortgage... certainly more than a bottle of tequila

It's got to the point where the sort of people that don't worry about the cost of running one of these things, are not the sort of people that buy these things

Took mine down this week, prepared to give it away but unsure if there’ll be any takers, and who’d blame ‘em?

So how many times a week were you using it for £11?

About 4 times a week in summer but didn't tend to put the jets on for long which might have helped keep cost down a little. I can't see us getting it out this year with the cost increase :/

Came here to say pretty much the same thing. I was so close to buying one last year but an glad I didn't, it wouldn't be worth the headache as I'd just be paranoid over the electric bill now.

These are basically paddling pools for the summer now, prices will nose dive due to energy costs

If you want an energy efficient hot tub you need to spend lots more on one. Ours uses about 80p a day to keep to temperature and run the circulation pumps at 21p a unit for electricity. However, we are getting solar and batteries so expect the running cost to reduce.

Our intex tub died before Xmas after nearly 5yrs, we loved it and went in most evenings (it was in an out house for winter use). No idea how much it was costing but our bills were still affordable. Since hearing of the energy price rise we've decided not to replace it sadly, if a good one comes up silly cheap I'd be tempted to buy and put it up the loft until things improve (we live in hope) but I think the only people buying them now will be those who don't need to worry about outgoings. Such a shame but needs must

Expensive to run these days but if it keeps the family entertained in the summer then cheaper than going out for the day surely? (edited)
  21. nonumb's avatar
I will use mine in summer as we have solar but its a bit pricey in the winter.

Great idea with the upcoming price hike in April, couldn’t find a better way to waste my money

It'd be cheaper to fly a bath tub near the sun than run one of these 24/7
