It's not a good year to visit Disney - parks reach capacity on many days meaning you have to book where you want to go in advance even if you have a ticket! Post-covid travel plus Disney World 50th anniversary celebrations have pushed the parks to their limits. June is also peak time.

It's the Car Hire which has put me off going this year. Normally costs me £220 for 2 weeks for a "intermediate" car , and paid similar for the last 10 years. A quote on some comparison sites, cheapest was just under £1000 in June, more than the flights!

    Yes you do

You will need to get a visa or an Electronic System for Travel Authorisation (ESTA) visa waiver to enter or transit the USA as a visitor. You should consult the US State Department website to determine which you will need.

I only know as a friend said to make sure not to get mixed up with Rosen locations when we were booking and this one was a bit out of the way so needed a car. Might have changed. Worth noting is a great deal but then you've all the extras on top. This hotel is always the cheapest on any search I do for Orlando and we've never booked due to the location. We've stayed in the Pointe one, which seems to be getting more expensive every time I look...... though if its not too far out and you're happy to drive, or alternatively uber (was reasonable).

This hotel was until recently the Clarion. It is now the Rosen Inn - Lake Buena Vista. We have stated there many times and it is so convenient for our needs.
On a goid day, it can be as little as 5 minutes to get on Disney property.

Hire cars are a joke at the moment, I've just paid £1400 for one from San Francisco.
But I did get a deal for £180 in Melbourne, I hired from Hertz just away from the airport, an Uber was $5.40 to get there, but I did find some deals on skyscanner for around £350 at the airport and the time before I went I got a deal going through the auto Europe USA site and that was about £230

It's for the cruises annoying as only 1 in 5 passenger are for the cruise but they probably done a banging deal as they have pretty much rebuilt the whole airport around Tui and literally can't do enough for the tourists there (edited)

You're correct, this one is quite a way from international drive (around 15 - 20 minutes drive) but is close to Disney Springs. I think there are 5 Rosen's on international drive - rosen centre, rosen plaza, rosen pointe, rosen international and rosen closest to universal. (edited)

Disney is always busy and park booking is to benefit Disney by getting people to go when they want, not when the customer wants. It’s here to stay and might reduce peaks and get crowds in when quiet, at least that’s the theory.

I don’t think June is that bad, April and December are! You can look on crowd calendars and YouTube vlogs.

I’ve heard it’s not the same any more. They’re doing their best to get every penny out of you and the fast pass scheme is a joke. You’re lucky to get on 3-4 rides in a day apparently.

Some of us even with a British Passport need a visa.

If you've been to certain countries in the last 5 years like.. Iran, Iraq, Libya, etc need to get a physical visa to make make the journey to the land of plenty

Or if you are a dual national from certain countries.

    Read the ESTA website carefully

Yip you're right, but it's always the cheapest every time and as we don't drive we didn't go for it.For Disney great, but if you're IDrive and Universal is not quite as handy. We have also stayed in another Clarion down near Universal and it was great took the other itrolley line up and down was fab and quick. Just the location here isn't ideal if you're not bothered with Disney. We hadn't done those last time. However, expecting to in future again as Starwars is a bigger pull now for our young men folk. So maybe a contender

Their slot was up at Sanford and they wanted to be nearer the Cruise ships. A lot of investment was happening at Melbourne Airport, so they moved. As you said, it's much further away though :-(

Sanford was great, very easy to get through arrivals and get hire car. Much better than Orlando International, which takes ages, then luggage collection, on monorail, then luggage again and finally car hire etc etc.

Wow, I'd been considering going back to Florida, as its been a few years now since my Port Orleans 3 week stay during star wars weekends, but the changes on researching seem horrendous!!! What on earth are Disney thinking. I'm still considering perhaps a 2 week Universal Stay at a Universal hotel if can find a good price.....but Disneys extra costs they've added plus getting rid of all the main perks for staying in their hotels etc have more or less outpriced me let alone that Lightning Lane ripoff on top
