I went into local store, priced at £69.99 but scanned in £7.98 but then they refused to sell as something about directive from head office to say "Do not sell" (maybe staff wanted to buy themselves?) so I walked out empty handed :/

    FYI

Stores were sent an email late on this morning, regarding the price being wrong (should have only been on the standard/original edition not the directors cut!)

Same as always with GAME depends on the store, if the store has a store manager who isn’t checking emails/WhatsApp groups they’ll still be honouring the old price until the price propagates through the ye olde POS System. However most stores have a Cluster Manager that will communicate and ensure this is actioned, as discounting usually leads to a discount report landing weekly, then investigations against Cluster Managers/Store Managers, as to why the discount was done. £5/£10 here and there usually gets allowed but something like this isn’t worth it!

Well done to everyone who got the deal! Until next time….

I believe to upgrade for ps5 it costs an extra tenner on top.

Just tried in Surrey Quays, only the standard version on shelf for £12 and when I asked the guy if they had the directors cut he said "yes but it is not £7.99, just got an email about it and I can't sell it at that price." Looks like they've been taken off the shelves. Congrats anyone that got one.

Out of stock online. This is most likely a wild goose chase in the stores. But good luck to anyone who gets one.

For those trying to upgrade their disk to the PS5 version - I’ve just reopened the game and there was a pop up in game for the upgrade. Clicked the link to store and the £9 upgrade has popped up (which I couldn’t find via the regular storefront). Hope it helps

And that's all good if you dabble in games only once in a while.

It doesn't mean that £85 for the sub is expensive though, considering the choice of games you get for the year.

This is why choices and options are good, as you can make the purchase that's specific to your needs.

Point being though, I think theres no way this would have dropped to £8 new, if this wasn't incoming on the subscription service, so you've indirectly benefitted as well is what I'm saying.

A word of advice for those people who go by the stock checker and may visit a store - don't bother it's completely useless and is actually days behind on actual stock. Just went now to Birmingham store and they said they haven't had copies for days yet the it's stating in store stock on their useless system.
  17. jaryckyj's avatar
It’s not £7.98! Went to my local GAME who had copies in stock and they said it’s just a pricing error on the site and that it’s still full price.

I just spoke to Game High Wycombe who confirmed head office made a mistake on the price for this, now back at £69.99.
We should take a moment to recognise and thank the person responsible for making this mistake

It's not like playing a downloaded game through a subscription service, or owning it instead, adds or detracts from the experience 🤷

You do you, but it doesn't mean a method different to your own preference is inferior or superior.
