Develop the skills required and navigate the complexities encountered by actual Top Gun pilots in authentic locations including the most challenging landing – on an aircraft carrier. This offering will push your piloting abilities to the limits—and beyond.

The “Top Gun: Maverick” expansion contains:

  • A “Top Gun: Maverick Edition” livery for the F/A-18E Super Hornet.
  • Three training missions for the Super Hornet that will allow you to master radical flight maneuvers including unrestricted take-offs, split S maneuvers, and low altitude, high-speed maneuvering through complex terrain.

    Please note that I downloaded this DLC (PC version) last weekend and ever since, the game crashes on launch.
    "FlightSimulator.exe - Application Error
    The exception Breakpoint
    A breakpoint has been reached.
    (0x80000003) occurred in the application at location 0x00007FF733FEB6F2."
    Found no solution so far and trying to avoid the "redownload/install the whole thing again" option. Will look into it some more this weekend, but just thought I'd let people know in case it could affect anyone.

    Slow WiFi can be frustrating. Sometimes I wish mine was faster. I feel the need. The neeeeed for speeeeed.

    I just did the Darkstar mission which was great fun. Rocketing at over 120,000 feet at up to mach 10 and crossing the entire United States in about half an hour! You can even take it to the game's ceiling of 275,000 feet. (edited)

    Never had any issues with mine be it wired or wireless. I'd always use the ethernet port when possible though if you are near the router (edited)

    Pretty sure it's an xbox live issue as i get it on both xbo and xbsx. My friends and I keep getting this game pad disconnecting error too "you need a controller to play this game, press a" I'm using the damn controller. That's on both consoles too so somethings going on.

    Free on Game Pass, for both PC and Xbox. And you can get a £1 trial of Game Pass for a month, and if you shop around cleverly then you can get Game Pass Ultimate for under £4/month.

    It states it connected on mine but doesn't let me goto settings or boot games up. It's been happening on and off for the past week and a bit. Shows connected but not to xbox live.

    Love the idea of the this simulator but on practise it is so so complicated that after a few attempts most people will give up on it.

    This is not a "game" for general public but exactly what it says in the title a simulator to train pilots or people who are really interested in aviation.

    If you're thinking of buying MSFS for the PC then be warned that it's been plagued with many bugs since launch. See the low ratings in the Microsoft Store and plps comments or the issues on the forums. I bought the game on a deal not so long after release and everytime they release an update plp (me included) have problems starting it. Don't get me wrong, the game is great playing it but even with a very high spec build and knowledge of programming I now deem it as a waste of money. (edited)

    Hi All,
    As a casual MSFS player, I enjoy the game without having a keen interest in learning to fly. With the various AI assists it is great for the casual player, I love the exploration aspect and also revisiting places I have been in real life. It is also fun to fly the grand canyon/central london in an F18.
    With regard to the price it is expensive but they also keep adding content, improving the world/elevation models gradually such as the Italy update last week and top gun add on this week. So I actually think it is good value.
    If you do want to learn to fly it is a no brainer.
    It is not without it's issues but if it runs well for you it is ace.
