Thanks ordered, FYI, just googled the product and price appears to be the same at Wilko... incase you're heading that way or dont have 'Prime'!

I was hanging on for £5 2kg like last year when they matched Wilko but only been £9.50 so far that I am aware of. I check Wilko in case they have it on offer anyway when I visit as would buy it there. There as been a 1kg with a free amount % bonus added in also so look out for that

I bought this at £3.97 recently but the difference is negligible at this price which is good. (edited)

I use the Birchmeier Aquamix 1.25 V rather than the MG feeder. It’s very precise with adjustable dilution levels. (edited)

The instruction manual specifically stated only liquid can be used before diluting, no solid objects.Did you use Birchmeier hose end sprayer with this specific feeder?Did you have to melt the lawn food into water before put into the Birchmeier sprayer? If you do, at what rate? Birchmeier sprayer only do 0.2%, 0.5%, 1% and 2% dilution. That means even if set at the highest level 2%, you need to mix 15ml lawn food with 75ml water and get 90ml liquid put into the sprayer which dilute 50 times to 4.5L. (15ml to 4.5L per instruction) Is 75ml water enough to melt 15ml lawn food?OrDid you simply put the solid lawn food into the Birchmeier sprayer? Did it block the filter?[Image]

I mix half a bag (250g) of this feed in around 1.2L of water as have found that’s the max melting ratio for the container capacity. This gives me enough liquid lawn feed concentrate for a 50m2 area according to the MG feeder mix instructions, which I then spread evenly around that area at 1% dilution setting (uses around 120L of water). You can vary the dilution setting up or down depending on your lawn’s watering requirements.

This has worked really well for my lawn whereas I was struggling with the MG feeder which leaked constantly and was melting and spreading the lawn food around unevenly.

You can use this feed once a month according to the instructions. I prefer nowadays to feed once a week after mowing at 1/4 dose (60g per 50m2 area) to maintain an even feed to my lawn throughout the month and keep the grass from growing too vigorously at once.

    Hope this helps. (edited)

I do not want do the feeding every week as it will cost too much time.

I decided to go for the slow fertiliser path. I purchased 20kg slow fertiliser 6 months release and used at the end of April. After 1 week, I do notice that the grass grow faster than without feed especially after every rain. After 2 weeks, I noticed that the grass all became dark lush green which I have never seen before on my grass. It is so good. I missed small area when spreading the fertiliser most likely due to drop spreader not doing a good job. The small areas are still in their original colour. The difference in colour and growth are very big.

Last year I used Iron Sulphate Lawn Tonic, the colour was not as good as this fertiliser.

If it last 6 months, I think that I will use the same fertiliser again next year despite its high price. It is the highest price I have seen for any brand 20kg pack fertiliser. (edited)

Just to check the calendar is read properly, the "every week, every 10 days" frequency is given only for Mow. Every other tasks with a black dot simply means those tasks can be performed in the month, they do not follow the same frequency for mow. The frequency on the top line can be confusing and overwhelming on first sight.

I feel you that taking care a lawn requires time and effort.

That is why I normally choose a slow release fertiliser instead of this one. So I do not have to fertiliser as often. Slow release fertiliser do cost a lot more.

    In Miracle-Gro range, per description,

This one is the quickest, last a few weeks. There are reviews say they use it every week.
    Fast Green is 6 weeks.
Premium Plus Thick & Green is 3 months. There are reviews say only last 2 months, not 3 months.

There are other brands offer 5-6 months. I have seen one states 8-9 months which I have never used. (edited)

    Sure, it does help.

250g with 1.2L water is about the same rate as per my calculation 15ml with 70ml water. Thank you for confirming that the lawn food can be fully disolved within such litter water.

1% dilution means 250g diluted into 120L water eventually. Per instruction, 15ml to 4.5L, 120L requires 400ml. 250g is likely to be a lot less than 400ml which means you are using at about half of the suggested rate. But if you used the 120L solution to cover 50sqm2, then the rate for the area is as suggested. Diluted at half rate, but used twice the amount of solution.

But I probably can guess why you did that. I have the same experience when using the sprayer with other herbicide that if I use the same rate as suggested, I end up using a lot more than suggested. I guess it is because that the water pressure is too high, and in order to cover an area, a lot more solution was sprayed out than suggested. So nowadays when using the sprayer, I always set the dilution rate one level lower than suggested, as I know that more solution will be used to cover an area.
