12" is perfect, any bigger and you waste gas, the 16 uses DOUBLE the gas, is bigger to store and big pizzas go cold while eating them. With the 12" when up to temperature (around 10 - 15 mins) they cook in a minute so if you hungry make 2 or more, a no brainer really

    Definitely a brainer...
We use our 16" Koda most when we have guests, so there are 6-10 people.
Pizza goes on table, pizza is cut, pizza is gone in 45 seconds. Next pizza...
They never go cold until we're a minimum of 7 or 8 fourteen inch pizzas down.

Don't place it on a plastic table as heat may transfer from the legs. I don't remember the legs being hot but at same time I don't recall touching them. They are good for novelty but don't think you will be making pizzas every week or month. We have used ours 3 times in over a year and half.

I have the gas for winter and wood chip for summer, wood chip is nice but a pain in the ass, I prefer the gas and we have pizza every Wed all year round. Gas is immediate light and in 10 mins we are off, can make 6 x 12" pizzas in 10 mins or so, that's enough for us, it gets used in the snow, rain and sun as we have a cover over it

I get all my original ingredients from here prestigebuyonline.com

The legs themselves don't get hot but the heat that radiates from underside will melt plastic quite quickly. I just rest mine on the top of the kettle BBQ without the legs extended - good height and no need for extra equipment.

The 16 uses double the gas, but also cooks twice the pizza in the same amount of time (16 inch pizza ->200 square inches, 12 inch pizza ->113 square inches). If you are cooking for a lot of people and sharing the pizzas it is a good option - if you are only cooking for a couple of people and have limited space the 12 is good.

When I do pizzas I generally do a lot more than required and then freeze them, because once you are set up you can really crank them out.

Voted hot as this deal might outlast the dobbies May20 offer. (edited)

It has pizza stones on bottom, sides and top and gets pretty hot. Has anyone "upgraded" from one of those BBQ top Box things to one of these? and is it noticeably better? Or is the main benefit not having to mess with the BBQ and setting up a box on top.Is going from a BBQ top box to one of these worthwhile?Pizza hut isn't nice quality pizza though. We have one of those BBQ box things for doing pizza and it gets used probably 15 times each summer, usually when family come or friends come round. So it can be as good value as a BBQ depending on how much time you like spending outside. and how much you like pizza (I'd eat it every day if I could!)It cost £100 at the time and we've had it for three years. So I think it's been pretty good value for money at £2 a go (plus the cost of the gas)

My friends had one of the top box things for a bbq and converted to a koda after trying mine out - main points seemed to be: quicker to heat up, hotter cooking temps and quicker cooking. They genuinely cook pizzas in 90 seconds or less!

My koda is by and large the best purchase of 2020 lockdowns (and I bought tonnes of stuff that year); can't recommend them highly enough. Really good value for money at £240.

having had a friend get it, its great easy to use, bit fiddly turning the pizza around in the 16" oven, and still getting the hang of getting pizza's in and out faster (less toppings, no overloading) as the wood burns away. But felt like he paid £500 for a metal box with a chimney and a hole in the back to put wood in. and keeping the fire going while getting all the pizza's cooked.

Used it twice so far and definitely encourage me to up my dough game, giving 70% water a go and seeing how that and stretching of the dough works out. but it does take time and effort to sort out all the dough. But if ur already doing it a dozen times a year then thats good.

Not ever done a BBQ pizza box but did think of alternatives, i guess the ooni metal box gets hotter, which helps cook the pizza's faster. probably some extra perks too, would be curious how much better the ooni is considering a the 57cm BBQ is £90 and cant imagine the pizza box cost an extra a£400 on top... or some sort of brick contraption to do something similar.

Its personal choice, we all prepare our own pizza toppings and find one 12" each is enough but we have enough dough for 6 if anyone wants another. You can produce a fresh hot 12" pizza every 2 mins say easily, the tools required for these are smaller than the 16" so easier to handle and store, but each to their own, just giving my views as a normal everyday family
