Perforated Pizza paddle down to £5.99 if you wanted to add that as well

proposing a perforated pizza paddle is a preposterous proposition... he said, mouth a gape, chewing walkers ready salted an inch from your face

These any good on a gas BBQ? Got a 3 burner Weber. Was looking at these last night and tempted at half price.

What I do with the one designed for my pellet grill if the stone gets to hot (mine can get over 900f), is put a cast iron skillet on the stone for 1-2 minutes before removing it to add the pizza. it absorbs some of the excess heat out of the stone and evens the temp out with the stone and the air above it (edited)

Aldi also do great pre-rolled pizza bases, you just need to unroll and top, they are in the fridge section

We buy the Aldi ready rolled pizza base for my lad as we make him pizza when we buy ready made because he doesn't like tomato sauce. I myself find it tastes quite sweet dough and is quite deep if just unrolled and cooked. Our local bakery makes pizza dough and you just buy it fresh on the day so would like to try it in this pizza oven to see how it goes.

Could you heat up the stone in a normal oven and transfer it to the bbq/ pizza oven to give it a bit of a head start? Just don't want to use lots of bottled gas getting it up to temperature from cold. Some reviews say takes about 15 minutes but I suppose that all depends on what bbq you are using and how many burners are under it.

Mind you, I think I could drop some pizza dough on our patio slabs right now and it would cook quite nicely!

Won't recommend trying to move something that is easily gonna be in the direction of 200 degrees and above. Think the most important thing to be more economical with the gas is to make sure the pizza oven is covered by the bbq top

Just buy an Ooni and save yourself the heartache.

Or even better get a Gozney.

Not the same thing as an Ooni, these have to be put on an existing bbq. Won’t cook the same either as it won’t get nearly hot enough. (edited)

These are rubbish, keep seeing these "hot" deals, who the hell is voting for this? Absolute waste of time !

Nah. Most ovens only go up to maybe 300 degrees at a push, and most ovens are fan assisted now, which isn't ideal for cooking pizza. I use a hybrid BBQ, but I only cook the pizzas on the gas setting, charcoal is too much faff to heat up. Gas will heat the pizza oven up to about 450 degrees, so it cooks fresh dough very quickly and effectively. Great crispy base and cheese all browned in less than five minutes. I've done a couple of pizza parties and they were very well received
