You also have the packed lunch option, we took ours got three packed lunches to take out and then went to the park, we did spend in Asda first but there is no obligation to.

Out of interest, how many Asda's have their own cafe?

Our Asda hasn’t cafe, it has MacDonalds, so it is the same?? can the kids eat in MacDonalds for £1??

I think you've hit the nail on the head.
All ASDAs near me have ditched their cafe for MacDs.

Only legacy Asdas have one and those are on their way out too.
Good for those that can find them and make use. Every little helps.

I dont think i will bother at my local after seeing newspaper reports.. "Asda in Cannock given one out of five food hygiene rating"..

These ratings penalise you if a file or folder is not in the right place. It is not solely based on cleanliness.

So am I reading the T&Cs right, we have 4 children under 16 so we can get 4 children's meals for £4 with no need to purchase anything for an adult?
    daved81's avatar
    That is correct

Great if you can find one where the cafe isn’t now a McDonald’s (edited)

Me too at least it’s something to help others out. Yet some here think not 🤷‍♂️ Not to worry, if it helps one person then

How about you message Asda instead of whataboutery on here? It would do more good and get you the answer if you’re ‘really’ interested.

A pity all the stores near me decided to close their (absolutely terrific) cafés and turn over the space to the (absolutely awful) McDonalds franchise 😩

I read that tweet as No minimum spend means buy anything of any value, even if it is 25p. But something has to be bought. They haven't restricted it by making it you buy another meal or something worth £5 first (edited)

Not really sure how you’ve read anything more into it, it’s pretty straightforwards

Great deal for those with kids. Thanks OP. I agree with the MD comments. My local is a MD one now. Shame. Only thing I usually buy in MD is tea or porridge (occasionally). Much prefer KFC chicken than MD. In moderation obviously.

    TehSheep provided the link below.

    corporate.asda.com/kid…fer

    The first line says:
Here's a list of the stores with an Asda Café where children aged 16 and under can eat for £1 during the summer holidays...

    15 is below 16.

    Hope that helps
