Further to recent Huawei battery replacement posting, here's something for iphone and Samsung owners.

ioutlet do various repairs and replacements for selected models, for instance iphone X battery £40 including postage and Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra for £50. I've bought a used phone from them before (iphone 8+) and paid extra for said battery replacement, and it was fine and still showed 100% after almost two years! Hope it's of use.

Added for info here and I've created a deal as well - but guessing that will get taken down as all my deals seem to
Edit. That deal is up and running, ta to mod who improved it.

got P30 Pro battery replacement done at Westfield Stratford today : exceptional service, really friendly guys, took a bit longer than ideal but no big deal. Now my P30 Pro is still at 100% after 1 hour off charging and I'm confident will last me many years to come. They also replaced my USB C socket which had been giving me some problems - and charged me £3 for it (!). Very pleased.

I've had my P30 battery changed through Huawei, using this deal.

Phone was bought in 2019 and battery life had noticeably degraded since then. Missed the deal last year for a cheap battery change but managed to get it sent off this time.

It was a wee bit of a faf getting the phone picked up as I didn't get an email to tell me what time DHL were going to be at my house to pick up, so had to re-arrange as I was at work when they did attend.

Once it was away, I was able to track progress through the link in the email. The phone was sent back within a working week.

No signs of anyone being in the phone - which is what I wanted, as my phone is without a scratch or dent - and the battery life is back to what it was when new, lasting ages!

Overall, for the price paid, I'm satisfied and the P30 should live on for at least another year (hopefully).

On a side note: this is the second time I've used Huawei servicing. My GT2 developed a screen fault and they dealt with that brilliantly also, replacing the screen free of charge and paying postage both ways. Maybe I'm just lucky, but it's two good experiences I've had using them now and I wouldn't have an issue using them again if needs be.

Well worth doing if your device is in good shape and can't bear to part with it like my Mate 20 Pro.

My handset has always had a screen protector and flip case since new. The Technician was amazed at the condition for a 4 year old device, no scratches or knocks.

I had mine replaced in June at Huawei Stratford. Took around an hour so wandered around Westfields killing time. Service was great and he even managed to replace the battery without removing my screen protector. (edited)

I mentioned it in a reply already but to get it on the main thread. Anyone using Accubattery to check the battery health. Make sure to go onto the battery options and disable delayed charging and also the option that stops it just short of the full capacity before running your Accubattery assessment

No - I'm not gonna bother. It's 2.5 years old and is still a 2 day phone for me. 88% is still pretty incredible (if it's accurate) and 91% is bonkers.

It's a great deal for those that need it, but I'm gonna pass.

BEWARE - sent my Huawei phone for battery replacement but they say I might have to wait up to a month as they have run out of batteries would you believe it. Also said my phone suffers from physical liquid damage -- it has never been near water and in any case is supposed to be waterproof! Result -- cost has doubled! I desperately need my phone so may have to ask for it to be returned without new battery as a month wait is ridiculous. Great phone but awful service.

Huawei customer service really is second to none, it's a shame they have been locked out of Google services because otherwise I'd have never moved away from their devices.

My Mate 20 X developed a fault after 2 years and 5 months so was just inside the 2 years 6 months warranty that Huawei offer. The phone was well used and had obvious signs of being dropped such as nicks and small dents in the case etc, so I was expecting to be told that the fault it had developed was my own fault. I sent it off anyway.

When they got it I got a text to say it had arrived there, about an hour later I got a text saying it was fixed and was being sent back to me. They had changed the main board and given me a free battery replacement too! That is way above and beyond what is expected.

Hi, I would be grateful if someone could tell me at what percentage you would advise replacing the battery?

I downloaded the ACCU app (thanks) a few days ago and at the moment its estimated capacity is 86% on my Mate 20X after three sessions. On my old P8, it's 79% after 2 sessions.
    The_narrow_path's avatar

Yeah that's all you need to do. Make sure the app is open at the start and finish of the cycles. I constantly clear apps as a habit so got caught out a few times when I started using it! Got to remember to open the app and keep it open. It seems very accurate.

SORRY FOR THE STUPID QUESTION BUT MY P30 PRO battery is on its way out and I don't want to get a new phone yet.. If I get the battery replaced.. Do I need to back up all the data.. (part of the reason I don't want a new phone) to many photos of family to risk being currupted by transfer a problem I have had with Samsung phones over the years..??? If they can replace the battery and not loose any data I will probably put up with the fact my finger print scanner keeps dissapearing every few days..!!

They advise you to back up the data if anything goes wrong and they have to reset it. There is a high chance they won't have to reset it, they only say to back it to cover themselves but it is advisable to back it anyway just incase.

They replaced my 20x battery back in March. Remember that if battery is below 80% of original capacity they will refund you whole amount. Only one thing bothers me. When I sent it over I also told them about a fact that if volume goes above 60-70% speakers starts to sound like crap. They didn't care about it and send it back without any checks being done. Can't complain much because in the end I didn't pay a penny for this service. Recently phone started acting weird and with heavy heart I had to finally get something new. But I have to say - that's the best phone I ever had in my life.

My phone (Mate20Pro) has been returned this morning, and is currently being restored very slowly to the previous settings. It has come back looking brand new, with them replacing the battery, the front and rear glass, plus the touch panel as they found a dead pixel. Amazing service. I feel the title is a misleading in terms of screen replacement. It's £136 for a screen replacement for my p30 and I would need a battery on top of that. Cheaper to just buy another one off eBay.

Absolutely gutted. The battery on my P30 Pro died a few weeks ago (showed as charging but percentage continued to drop until it died) so sent it away for a new battery and they've sent me an email saying their "engineer has found the device to have suffered (Physical/Liquid damage)". It definitely hasn't come into contact with liquid or had physical damage, in fact, it still looks brand new because it's been in a 360 silicone case (front & back). Apparently the mother board needs to be replaced and the cost of repair will be £371.80 which I obviously rejected because that's more than I paid for the phone on the O2 refresh deal!

I've been browsing for a replacement but nothing seems to match up for me so looks like I'm in the market for a 2nd hand P30 Pro!

It's available by the MyHuawei app under Support/Spare Parts.

The back cover for my P30 Pro is £96.80!!!! My P30 Pro is under warranty but the lower microphone doesn't work. It appears to be a common problem and even sending it back to Huawei for a repair doesn't seem to solve it according to forum posts. I guess they won't even attempt to repair the microphone anyway without repairing the back and I'm not paying £96.80 for a bit of glass.

Paid for the battery replacement a few weeks ago and took it to the Stratford service centre on Friday. Just one person working in the service centre itself and took them just over 30 minutes to do. They ran tests before and after and gave it a clean, said I should see some slight improvements as my original battery was still in quite good condition. No factory reset required, phone put into a maintenance mode. Great service for the price.
