Are Sony phones produced outside of China? I don't want to buy a new phone manufactured in China since they may be using Uighur forced labor.

    Yes made in Thailand

This is Sony's new mid range phone and the specs look about right.

Want more premium features? - Then you'll want the Xperia 5

Want flagship specs? That's the Xperia 1.

Sony don't sell huge quantities in the UK these days but I'm not sure if they are more popular in other markets (Asia/Japan) and making versions for the rest of the world is a fairly cost effective solution for them to maintain a presence in the market.

Interesting phone, almost felt they got all the ticks right on this one

    -6.1" so 1 hand friendly
    -expandable memory slot
    -5000mAh
    -headphone jack
-Snapdragon 695? (think its good enough)

    And then I see UFS? and 1080p@30fps? and Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac?

maybe its due to item not being out fully and gms not up to date perhaps. Not sure if its a good point and click camera either will check some reviews.

But voted hot since its looking a very good phone.

Anyone know if this is wireless charging? Quite conflicting on the web. Thanks

Not, it isn't. Only Xperias from the 1 and 5 series come with wireless charging.

No 4K even 4K 30fps according to early reviews, one reviewer even said refresh rate capped at 60fps.

This is a bit weird, quick google its £380 brand new up front so its reaching google 7a price range (ebay stuff) and even Samsung S23 499 with cash back/trade in prices....

I think this Sony is going to drop sharply in price give it 6 or 12 months if not almost vanish due to lack of decent specs.

    All phones drop in price.

People generally buy the Xperia 10 because the form factor is just perfect, battery life excellent and specs acceptable for most tasks.
I agree the price is rather high though and I would wait 6 months before getting this.

If you need higher specs get the 5 or 10 but prices are steep. (edited)
