  • Over-ear headphones: these comfortable wireless headphones are suitable for all-day wearing. Crafted with plush synthetic leather and impact-resistant nylon, and designed with minimal clamping force, they’re as luxurious as they are durable.
  • Up to 24 hours battery life: enjoy 24 hours of battery life from a single charge.* A quick 15-minute charge offers 3 hours when you’re on the go or plug in the included audio cable to listen for even longer in wired mode.

Good Price but Personally I wouldn't "Upgrade" if you have the QC35ii.

I still own both the QC45's and QC35ii, which have been relegated to my throw around don't care if they get damaged pair. I will summerrise why I wouldn't upgrade.

My 45's drop out a lot and often crackle when I move my phone around my body, a lot if a few times a day. EG move my phone into my pocket, it crackles and I have to stop the music and start it again to get the audio back. Apparently it's a known issue with them. I also find the sound quality to be marginally worse than the 35ii's and I have a theory for this which I will get to further down. The EQ is better on the 45's but I feel the sound is slightly worse from a warmth and tonality perspective. Don't get me wrong, they still sound great and I picked mine up on ebay when Google was giving them away with the Pixel, so I got a bargain £135 for sealed in Box 45's.

I think the slightly worse sound of the 45's come from the fact they are without a doubt the best ANC headphones I have ever used. For me they truly smash the 35ii's when it comes to Noise cancelation. I suspect the tonality of the music then suffers because of the great but very aggressive ANC. I have also tried the Sony MX3 and 4's and I find the 45's ANC by far the best for my ears anyway.

Now unless ANC is your number 1 feature I feel for most people they will prefer the sound that the 35ii's deliver.

Here are my rankings for the 3 main Bose offerings

    Sound quality - Bose 700
All round best - Bose 35ii
    ANC Powerhouse - Bose 45's

Thanks. I was about to post asking if it's worth upgrading from my QC35ii

On the 45s do they not have the 3 levels of ANC? Does this not improve the issue?

I love my 35iis, but I do have an annoying issue with them, with the dual device connection feature. Specifically when connected to one device (eg my laptop), and actively using it (e.g. on a Teams call). Sometimes the other device will drop connection and reconnect randomly. With voice prompts activated each time this happens I lose the audio on the call while the headphones say "my iphone disconnected.....my iphone reconnected..." etc. So I have voice prompts disabled, so I just get a beep when this happens. Still annoying but at least I can still follow the conversation. But this means when I turn them on I don't always know which device has connected until I check the app and then I look daft wearing my phones but not able to hear anybody!

A note to add is the new Pixel is just around the corner and if the last 3 Google releases are used a benchmarks, I suspect they will once again but offering Bose headphones with the purchase of any new Pixel.

If they do prices for these headphones plunge and usually stay down for a few months, while people sell of the unwanted bundle in headphones.

For context, this was bought in Feb this year.

Having talked to the MY JL team the offer is still live and they are aware of the issue. No ETA on when it will be fixed but they have a temporary fix of making notes on your account so you can buy at the higher price and get the discount refunded once you have them by calling up.

Just got some of these for about 200ish from Amazon Germany. I used to have QC35ii before my daughter stole them. These are much the same, USB-C and a transparency mode are welcome additions. Tried the Anker Q30 before these and whilst they sounded fine, they got way too hot after half an hour or so. Comfort is critical with these sorts of headphones, I find the Sony's a bit fatiguing and tight but the Bose have always been super super comfortable for long periods. Brilliant headphones.

Is the Bose 700 a newer model and superior to the QC45s?
    Andrew_Smart's avatar
Seems way more people find the qc45 more comfortable
700s better in anc and audio quality. Just depends what you prefer, how long you'll wear for (edited)

Only annoying thing about this set is that It doesn't have aptx for bluetooth high definition audio .. im trying to think if that is a deal breaker
    GLA's avatar
I wouldn't say so. Even the HD variant only does 24-bit/48kHz support at 576kbps, which is no where near lossless quality and even further from "organic" uncompressed lossless.

I think bluetooth is slightly flawed in it's current format anyway for real uncompressed files. It's why I personally thought apple would do high fidelity lossless audio over wifi/airplay, to smash current bitrate capabilities of bluetooth. The walled garden is a perfect place to do it. Maybe the battery life trade off wasn't worth it

The new Snapdragon processors can process Aptx lossless which is 16-bit/44.1kHz at over 1Mbit/s, still well off uncompressed lossless but a decent jump. However as far as I am aware neither Bose nor Sony headphones support this yet? I could be wrong though. I mean aptx is sony so Bose won't support it anyway. (edited)

    How good are these?

You won't know for sure if they're for you or not unless you try them. I had a pair of Sony XM3s but found them too uncomfortable after a few hours of wearing. Switched to a pair of Bose QC35 IIs and never looked back.

Rubbish headphones. QC35II were far superior.
    Andrew_Smart's avatar
From what I've found online, these are similar in all ways aside from better ANC, I wouldn't call the 35ii's superior. For the price though, definitely
