Bose QuietComfort 25 Headphones - £159 @ Amazon

Found 14th FebFound 14th Feb
Seems to be a good price at £159
I had a prior version for that were about 6 years old, electrically I had no issues but when the plastics that held one cup on failed and snapped well out of warranty Bose would offer no spares or support.

I was told by other people (when trying to get a plastic clip elsewhere) if the set had been younger then Bose may have allowed me to "upgrade" to the latest model by paying for a new set at half the retail price.

Don't get me wrong I knew they were 6 years old, but Bose is not a budget brand and I can still get parts for my much older Sennheisers. The clips were redesigned a few years ago but honestly I expected a little better support on what were (when new) a £200 set of noise cancelling headphones on a part that was designed to move and flex and so at greater risk of failure.

I've got 2 pairs (one retail and one factory hand modified preproduction/demo pair) and both have failed once. They are fixable though, if you are handy with a soldering iron it's not too tricky. I wouldn't let it put me off.. the noise cancelling is excellent for the price.

Had wireless a few times, still use a pair for the gym, but the persistent charging, phones dying in the middle of a commute, and also degrading battery life over time makes them more of a pain haha.

I've found wired tangle free earphones to be the best compromise. Unfortunately there aren't that many.

You mean for Bluetooth right? Not for the QC25?
I got mine, and in terms of sound, feel and noise-cancellating they are unsurprisingly great.

Only thing is, if I turn my head moderately sharply, the noise-cancelling seems to cut out. Is this a problem anyone else has had?

Will probably email BOSE, but just wondered if it was something silly.

All, a tip if you buy these. I went through 3 pairs of QC 25s in less …All, a tip if you buy these. I went through 3 pairs of QC 25s in less than a year all suffering the same fault. Right ear cup failure. It was so frustrating and gutting as I loved these headphones when working. My wife has a pair still going strong about 2 years on, the difference is her's stay home whereas I took mine to work each day, folding and unfolding into its case. At the time I was getting the problems I found a lot of forum posts with people getting the same fault. Some suggesting the folding of the right ear cup, which pivots in as I recall, caused a wire to essentially break over repeated folding. I appreciate this is just anecdotal evidence and far from scientific, but I quite genuinely had 3 pairs all break with the EXACT same fault, in my eyes there's clearly a design issue that may affect very regular users of the case. I would advise minimising the amount of times you fold in and out for storage and you'd should be fine and, like I said, my wife's pair still work fantastic.I bought a pair of Sony MDR 1000x in the end, also fantastic but not as comfortable as Bose and NC not quite as good (still amazing though); But they've lasted me under the same use for 18 months.

So Bose were quite good about honouring the guarantee then? I think its 2 years?

Bose QuietComfort 35 Wireless Headphones II - Silver - AMAZON - £308.47
-315°Expired
Found 7th JanFound 7th Jan
Silver version slightly cheaper than the black version. This isn't as cheap as ive seen it before though.
I really didn't want to spend more than £150 on NC headphones, but after disappointed AKG N60 NC performance, I figured I would have to spend more.
My key requirements where good NC and the ability to pair a tablet and phone and switch between them seamlessly as possible.
After much research and in store testing, only the BOSE could provide what I wanted. Sure, the NC was marginally better with the Sony, but the multiple device support was not as well implemented. The senheisser pcx-550 was hopelessly inadequate in this respect.
The QC35 was money well spent for me. I can connect my tablet and phone at the same time. I can be watching a video and if I get a call, the video pauses and I can answer the call. Once the call finishes I can go back to my video. And the NC on my tube and train commute is more than good enough.
Edited by: "harry66" 23rd Jan
I bought them for sleeping 💤 in, they are very comfy. I have tried everything to combat a snoring partner, ear plugs plus these work like a charm, sometimes on a bad night I even put a little background music to completely muffle any snoring activity, yes expensive, but worth every penny for a sound sleep.

The Sony’s are probably better at ANC, but I don’t think many more are unless you can enlighten me? Guys, when you start comparing the Momentums vs the QC25, you're straying away from the core values of each headphone. The Bose are all about the noise cancellation and area more expensive brand. I've listened to them and for Bluetooth it's as good as it gets at this stage of the technology.
The Sennheisers are also decent, but not as desirable in my view. I'd also expect the Boses to be more reliable and if you talk to a Bose agent in the right manner, you should get decent after sales should a problem arise. They replaced the ear cushions on a pair of Triports I had free of charge.

I would not invest in a product which is designed to lock you into their platform. Not to mention they are already charging you £135 for a single, modestly sized speaker

In fairness, the Sonos App is pretty good, IMO.

It brings together your music libraries from different sources and/or providers.

We have a NAS drive with all of our music on, and the wife has an Apple Music account, and once set-up on one device, these libraries/services are available to all users who access the speaker via the app.

Yes it is a bit disappointing that the speaker doesn't have a line-in / Aux in, or Bluetooth for other devices, however this is only a small drawback. Also, it only allows connection to Spotify premium, not the free version.

As stated above, I got mine free from Vodafone. Would I have paid £100+ for one? Having used it... probably. The sound is excellent, and as above, I find the App very good.

But the sonos playbar is on a different scale. Try it before you buy it. I'm hoping the sonos will drop below £500 then I'm all in, as bose hold there value I'll still get £200 on ebay

I also like Bose but some of their products are not good. All their soundbars are quite poorly reviewed until recently. They are specialists in getting a good sound out of small things but they need to up their game in certain areas, especially at the prices they charge.
I've got to be honest on this one, I've got the bose solo 15, had it for about 2 years and it's really bassy. Now looking for the sonos playbar. A friend has it and it's no comparison. I love bose, got everything from headphones, Bluetooth portable speakers and even in my last car. But the sonos playbar is on a different scale. Try it before you buy it. I think you are right.
I was told by a seller at Singapore Airport that the only difference was the battery life but... after some research I think he tricked me.

Apart from google assist is there much difference?

Pretty sure they're the same other than a button.

Can't you get google assist the the V1's? by holding down the multi function button?
