They haven’t been tracking as Amazon asked them to stop in Europe during the pandemic. You could still use their price history but it would be missing any prices from the last 8 weeks. Looks like they might be tracking again today as I just got an alert.

Mentos

Amazon.de have had the new 700's @ £230-£250 a few times. If you're in a hurry then fair enough. But otherwise I'd go for the 700's over these next time they're at £230 @ Amazon.de. Or wait for these to drop further, because if the prices on the 700 become more normal that will surely squeeze these down further.

MrSwitch

To be fair this is still a cracking price, unfortunately was 20 quid cheaper last week from amazon and currys Still heat added for a low price on these

Nope. Only consistent usually low frequency noise such as airplane / train noise. Listen to all the YouTube demos of simulated cafes etc there’s always people talking being heard.

leicesterlad

I received mine a few days ago and have not been that impressed with the ANC. Even when I put the ANC on the High setting it's still not great and I can hear the family talking. Will downgrade the firmware to see if it makes a difference. Maybe I was mistaken but I thought the ANC would block out all the noise.

hi123

on a similar theme, can someone suggest best way to use the headphones with non bluetooth tv ( which adapter )

I phoned them as I was concerned after returning several high value items in quick succession. They told me I was nowhere near their threshold to even look at it (didn’t state was the threshold was), but I had returned about 4ks worth of stuff in about 8 weeks.

Speculator

Appears its for returning several high value items within a short space of time that people are getting banned for.

loop

Noise cancellation and sound leakage are both improved in the 700s, but they are around £299 currently at most retailers! Also you might not like the touch sensitive controls on them.

FF99

Has anyone worked out how Amazon work their ban??

Speculator

Not received yet but definitely keeping unless it's broken/faulty. Only buying things I know I want to keep from Amazon now. Can't risk getting a permanent ban from Amazon for returning high value items.

It blocks certain noises (engines, motors in particular) but by removing the background noise, it also makes other sounds clearer. What you describe is usual with ANC.

Head-fi can be a tough crowd, but you may as well post something relevant to the headphones on discussion here. The last post on the link you sent was from 2011. This is a better read about the quality fo these headphones https://www.head-fi.org/threads/the-bose-nc-700-noise-cancelling-headphones.910737/

And you think that audiophiles like beats? What world do you live in? Audiophiles prefer open cans to closed ones, they don't care about NC, wireless, battery life, comfort etc, as much as they care about sound. Also, their community is a hipster rabbit hole, audiophiles go to crazy lenghts with their setups, don't take their word for granted.

We got these free with the P20 Pro offer, fantastic headphones. My wife even left hers in the pocket of the car door and when the door opened they fell out and we never noticed, we then drove over them. Other than a crack in the plastic they still work perfectly

peterhillman

Good price, but £250 at John Lewis and you get 2 years warranty.

MrWang

First pair developed fault whilst in warranty and replaced. Second pair now disconnect every 20 minutes, to the second. Out of warranty, Bose won’t fix or replace a blatant software fault. Now left with pointless, expensive headphones. Will never buy Bose again.

I bought these from Amazon Germany last week. I think they shipped from UK because they were with me less than 20 hours after I placed my order. They are good as all the reviews point out. I think the most amazing thing about them is their call quality - crystal clear audio coming in and the other side people can hear me very well even when I am walking around.

K_Do

I have tried them they were good but call.quality is important for me so sony are a no go based on reviews.

K_Do

Yes market leading at 36h about 2h to charge. Used them all day and they remained high in battery levels. Bose are about 20h in real terms with anc on. The jabra were good but i had this issue. I had this. Think it was a manufacturer fault. Hoped the firmware would fix but no, it was ok with anc on or off but terrible using hearthrough.

Agree. Really good on 12 hour plane journey....actually managed to get sleep. Also if the battery fails half way, as long as you have a spare one you are good

Zardoz

Good price. I think I only paid £100 or so from QVC at Christmas but they are up to £135 now albeit with split payments. I'm only using them in noise cancelling mode while home working to drown out the kids. :-) Lighter than the Jabra's I also have so I can keep them on pretty much all day every day which I couldn't with the Jabra's. I find even without the NC the over-ear cups mitigate a lot of the background noise. And strangely I prefer just dropping a AAA battery in rather than having to remember to charge yet another thing. Think I got about 30 hours out of the first battery. I'm looking at the BT add-on that @twmbo mentions above, can't decide to go for the one that hangs down a bit or the one that integrates onto the phones themselves. :-) One thing I would note that the overall size of the case is pretty large for travelling compared to ear-phones so if you are cramming kitchen sink in your carry-on you might want to look elsewhere.

deleted2481527

They cancel noise better.

twmbo

Don’t really have much experience with noise cancelling headphones, these are the only ones i’ve ever owned and i love them. I didnt buy them for the music quality, purely for the noise cancellation. They’re great for work and a godsend on planes, can’t hear the engines or crying babies. I’ve also used these to help with sleeping when i travel and stay in hostels. Saved me so many terrible nights sleep. I can’t vouch for them enough. And the fact they use batteries means the charge won’t deteriorate with age. Addons are available to make these bluetooth on amazon for an extra £30-40. 5 years old and still going strong

Yeah I purchased the stayhear tips but still dont rate them. If you think they sound good try the wireless and you will be totally blown away. Like you I'm a bit of a headphone collector and would say the Soundsport Wireless are not far off my XM3's dynamically.

Siddas

I have found these to be superb earphones. I have got an addiction with headphones and earphones which I am trying to kick and have spent a small fortune on various ones. Recently bought the sony wireless ones over and in ear versions. But I still use these as my every day pair. However to begin with I thought they were just ok. Then saw a review saying to spend the extra 6 or 7 quid and buy the stayhear ultra tips. Despite looking the same as the ones that come with it they do make a lot of difference to the sound. Good levels across all ranges and good but not over the top bass. I use them with a dedicated mp3 player and find them to be superb for the price.

CLOUD_TIGER

These dont sound great.... I purchased some SoundSport Wireless that really sound superb but developed a fault. I decided to compromise and go for the wired thinking they would sound the same. Unfortunately not..... I changed the tips which did help a little but ultimately the were relegated to emergency headphones and I went for another pair of the SoundSport wireless.

Sony bit warmer (more fun, better with modern music), temperamental fit (fit me well, but depending on head shape); worse for office, desktop, calls, wind. Sony better app, maybe slightly better for commuting. You definitely need to go try them out in JL or elsewhere, before buying. Not Bose flagship anymore, that honour goes to 700 model, which sounds a bit more like xm3, and has touch controls and other improvements, but some prefer QC 35 still.

Go with the Sonys. They support more music codecs, don't use an antiquated charging port and the NC is just as good, if not better than these.

I agree. The Airpods sound open and airy, detailed, while the Bose sound smooth and bassy. I owned both. If you like Bass, go for Bose, detail, airpods. The positive about airpods is no apparent lag with games. The Bose has lots. But nothing with YouTube, or any other video app.

ItsFrazer

I went with jabra 65t mainly because the sheer size of these. Didn't realise how much they hand out

chridt

My son has Airpods that I used to use when he was at school until I got these and I can honestly say the Bose are far better in terms of sound quality than the Airpods! No you can definitely only use the right as it also has the speaker and mic in for phone calls the left doesn’t and if you just take the left out of the case on it’s own it doesn’t connect to your phone. And they are still working fine without any issues like the above poster experienced,as you have said above looks like he had a dodgy pair and should of returned them.

chridt

Fit my ears fine,I use the medium buds.... I’m just happy I didn’t need to use the large (lol)

Those items don't need replacement parts as they're naturally pristine, some boxes not even opened.
