>Only slightly bigger physically
>Really enjoy the haptic feedback feel
>Screen is gorgeous and bright
>Signal strength seems about the same
>Super smooth UI - not a single stutter
>Fingerprint sensor faster than P30 Pro, face unlock is decent as well
>Installing android updates reaaaally slow for some reason
>Speakers much louder and more bass, really liking audio quality
>Charging is slower with all the fancy adaptive stuff turned on, but honestly not that bad, unless you are in a mega rush
>Does get noticeably warm
>Pixel cameras win in all but low light selfie mode, which seems much better on P30 Pro. Dont use HDR for low light photo/video - very noisy
>P30 Battery life is definitely better, going by half day experience.
>Pixel camera drained 15% of battery within 25mins of sampling photo/video, not continous recording
I like it so far, especially all the native built in Google AI tricks and life enhancements. Allegedly, battery will get quite a bit better as it learns usage patterns, which is currently my only real disappointment.
I wouldn't spend £850 on it, as Xiaomi have some fierce competition at that price, but the launch offer makes it around £500 with trade in, which is totally worth the upgrade, in my opinion. Even if you start disliking it or a new shiny thing comes out in nezt 12 months, you will likely break even when selling on.
I'm happy to advise that I'm very pleased with this product. Bubble-free installation process (the guide really helps) and the main thing being the fingerprint sensor just keeps on working with no tweaks. Highly recommended and thank you to those who advised of it. I hope this helps others.
Cheers
Googles terms (from whom you'll be claiming the watch/buds) mention nothing of any increased trade-in voiding it -

You can have a little circle around the camera lense gently flash for a notification or the screen edges. Very clever
I went to order in store and traded an old junk phone for the extra £100 enhanced trade in.
It was a fairly straightforward experience except they had to get a different person who knew how to do it.
For the trade in phone, they just clicked through a few menus to get the IMEI, and spent about 10 seconds checking it for damage.
They then email through the E-gift card for the trade in value, and begin the order process for the Pixel, then will ask to scan the voucher on your phone at the checkout stage.
I was then able to also pay the remaining balance using a 6% discounted instant E-gift card that I ordered during this whole process, so technically used 2 codes including the trade-in one and my discounted one.
Software is great, no bugs and it's so fast and fluent. Downside is home screen and stupid pixel date widget and search bar, but you can fix it using different launcher (didn't try yet).
Speakers are excellent, microphone as well.
Its extremely huge phone, very uncomfortable comparing to s21+ (I know ,similar size ). iPhone 14 pro is is waaay better in terms of one hand use.
Compared today with iPhone 14 pro and photos are darker, more natural I guess, iPhone ones are so bright.
Video cinema mode is the worst one comparing with ip14 pro. Looks so so so artificial.
Portrait mode looks better in an iPhone (bokeh loos more natural there).
Zoom way better with pixel. Not sure about battery yet but looks similar to my s21+, so far of course... Should be better with time.
Overall very nice software, just love how it looks and works but it's just too big and curved screen just complicate screen protector choice.
Might sell it and buy ip14 pro as it's just way more comfortable to use than this Goliath lol
Oh, it heats. Tried some messenger video call and phone was hot after 15mins, also during charging.
599-180=419 + free buds pro
I took a similar deal for pixel 6a. Sent my phone and had no reply for 14 days. The return window finished too. CPW got back to say the phone was blacklisted.. they use a third party for these checks.
I had to make a complaint to get the trade in money. They took longer else could have returned the phone.
I'll stay away from Currys / CPW trade in deals.
"Thanks for shopping at Carphone Warehouse a part of Currys.
Your order has now been dispatched and is on its way via DPD delivery. We'll be in touch soon with a delivery date and time."
Also has anyone's cashback tracked?
And how is the money paid back for trade in?
I got two confirmation emails
One for phone purchase and one for trade in seperate emails? (edited)
I've bought it on a curry's in-store (edited)
If someone else is in the same boat, give them a call, much better than filing the contact form apparently.
But the number of hoops I had to jump through just to get the trade-in money was ridiculous!!
My trade-in device was a OnePlus One-A0001 64GB (not working - stuck on a boot-loop). This phone was on their eligibility list on the website but as the phone doesn't boot up the only way to get the IMEI was from the original box. So, I took a picture of the phone with the box showing the IMEI and S/N and printed this out as proof, which was sent along with the phone.
Anyway, when my trade-in device was delivered, I never received any confirmation or anything. Numerous calls to CPW didn't give me hope as they would just fire off an email to the trade-in dept as they don't have a number or connection to the "outside world". I would have to wait 3-5 days. No response after 5 days. So called back and guess what they would fire off another email and i had to wait another 3-5 days. I was stuck in this loop for around 20 days!!!
I then finally decided to request to speak to a manager, and this is where something started to happen. I explained my situation to the manager, and he said he would push it through manually even if the trade-in department haven't responded as he could see how furious I was with the whole situation. Request was sent 8 days ago, and I received the payment today!
Strangely, as others have reported, I got home from work yesterday and a package from currys had arrived and it was my trade-in device. They had sent it back and wrote 'Not working' on it. Also according to the label they printed off, the IMEI for my trade-in device on their system matched a totally different phone, a Zte mobile phone and on that basis, I think they rejected it. (...Maybe that is what caused the delay? all they had to do was just ring me to discuss!! CRAZY!!)
Anyway, I got the money so happy in the end but what a massive headache this turned into! CPW customer service is a complete joke and I would probably not use the online trade-in ever again! (edited)
Great deals for anyone that is looking to buy one. (edited)
Pixel 7 Pro £849
-6%(voucher from work)=£799
Trade in Samsung S21(£370+£150=520). I opted for postage though so I can transfer my data before I send them my phone, that's the only concerning bit.
Ultimately I would have flagship phone and watch for £280. Hopefully all goes well!
(edited)
Is it at checkout as there's only this in the offers section, no links
Thanks if you can help with my stupid question
Ordered on 06/10/22 received trade in email that same date
today 21/10/22 still not received my trade in pack - had already emailed twice.
Phoned up customer service - gave my original order number - they located my order. Whilst on the call they had me complete a new trade in request on their website - my existing phone came up with the same value (thank goodness) i then gave them my new trade in reference number from today and whilst on the phone with me they sent an email to their trade in team giving them the new trade in ref number and advising them to link it to my original order so that i would still get the bonus £150 - was quite straightforward - just hope that it all works ok. They said i should get my package within 7 days (despite the new email saying within 2 working days)
hope this helps someone else (edited)
also the currys website is odd, looks you you do two seperate transactions one for the trade in and then one for the handset purchase, how does it lnk it up to know you are eligable for the extra trade in... (edited)
Will wait for pre paid package and trade in monies to come through before I open it. 14 day cooling off.
Currys never again, terrible customer service! (edited)
Rang to return yesterday was advised return address and I would need to pay postage, thought they would supply a prepaid label?
Anyway, decided to go to Currys and return instead, guy said already returned, can't over-ride existing return otherwise I get 2 refunds, he put notes on case to supply prepaid Royal Mail label..
Got home from a 20 mile drive and on the phone again (sounded like a noisy offshore dept), got the same message as before, I have to pay postage despite the notes and me saying Currys hadn't fulfilled the trade in offer, anyway after a few mins of rather heated arguing they arranged a DPD driver to collect today..! what the hell?
Well done to anyone who had a good service, you were lucky, I've given Currys/CPW so many chances in the past but this is the final straw, completely boycotting them from now on!! (edited)
