DLC packs for Dragon Age Origins and Dragon Age 2, plus Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3 (except for that game's multiplayer packs) are all now available without charge, EA has said in an email to fans shared via reddit.

Remaining BioWare Points can be spent on those Mass Effect 3 multiplayer packs (if you still have any points lying around), before they disappear forever on 11th October.

BioWare Points were an annoying currency from the early days of the PC Origin store era which you could buy to then spend on in-game content packs.

Indeed, the currency was not used at all in newer BioWare games, such as Dragon Age: Inquisition, Mass Effect Andromeda and Anthem.

And of course, if you want to play the Mass Effect trilogy now, your best option - the Mass Effect Legendary Edition trilogy remaster - has almost all of this DLC packed in.

47858669-zwSlr.jpgA few asking so here you go. Open the Origin client, Select the gam then choose EXTRA CONTENT. The DLC is then listed below for you to select. I'm afraid you will need to download each individually. Enjoy.

Thankyou so much for your help with this..

So where are the web links to this free Dragon Age Origins, 2 and Mass Effect.. (actually what is 2 ?? )
It's the DLC for each game that's becoming free, not the base game. The four games in question are:
    Dragon Age II
    Dragon Age: Origins
    Mass Effect 2
    Mass Effect 3

Dragon Age: Inquisitions also has some free DLC to add

It says it costs 21 pounds do I need to own the base game to get the dlcs for free?

You need to buy the individual component items instead.

I can't see the free individual DLCs. If I search for "Dragon Age", I only see individual DLCs for Dragon Age Inquisition. For Dragon Age II it just has the bundle DLC.

I've collected the Dragon Age trilogy for free over time. Nice to add the DLC.

Free content but 10 years late

They show as £22 for me. Is there something special you need to do to get them for free?

The bundle price hasn't changed but every individual add-on is free - hence the first post states you need to download them individually!

Will the DLC for Inquisition be free as well?
    Barst's avatar
It is already, as part of this change (edited)

Yes and I already have Dragon Age II, Dragon Age: Origins and Mass Effect 2. But Can't see any links to the DLC.. Will this automatically be there ??

What platform are you playing on? Assuming that it's PC via Origin, I read this as you'll need to redeem them from the Origin store.
    Forgottenshopper's avatar
    Yes on Origin on PC..

Some not working yet says waiting on price ?

I only have one single add-on that says this. Maybe they're fixing defects

Just so you know these dlcs are not available using the new EA desktop launcher (the games are though) and you can't install both origin and EA launcher. EA launcher is needed for EA gamepass games so its clear what EA are doing here.

You can install, but not run them both at the same time.

Thanks. Can't believe how bad their UI is, took me forever to work out how to get these even with instructions. The Extra Content section is really slow to load too, and on my laptop you can't see anything until you scroll down. Amazing.

You have to change the title of this revelation the game is not for free only dlc and few extras are...

'Sign in is currently unavailable'. Just me?

Also where can I actually find the downloads for Mass Effects 1,2,3 DLC please?

I never use Origin so didn't even realise I own ME2; now I won't even realise I own all the DLC as well in 6 months time! Cheers, OP
