I bought this last time it was this price. The online servers are back on.

Only if you like your jam on the move, I like mine on toast.

I used to play an Xbox original on the 360 called Black. (Made by Criterion). Bit like call of duty but with a decent story and stealth. Wonder if it would work for the PC?

Thanks Brutes, eventually bought this. Really enjoyed every other mass effect game and been wanting to try this. Hopefully all the patches and updates have fixed it and no left it a mess lol. Have some heat mate (y)

BluesFanUK

Yeh it's not bad, bargain at this price for the amount of hours you'll put in. Also don't install the patch and use some of the exploits to level up quicker, I found it made the game alot more enjoyable and eliminated most of the grind.

What mods would you recommend? I remember meeting the first aliens on that planet around release time but burned myself out with other games releasing around then. Honestly quite enjoyed the exploration and what I played.

If you ignore all the negative press its not bad, yet its definately no improvement over the previous 3. With the right Mods though, its a much inproved playthrough.

2nd Mass Effect was awesome and then it started going wrong from there. Never a good thing when EA is involved either. They seem to train wreck games and just go for the money. Mass Effect lost its identity.

fisher3663

If you liked the originals you will love it. Ignore the reviews and make your own mind up. For this price it’s a no brainier.

ricky1234561

I liked it even with it's faults (and there are many and what people say is mostly true.) but I am (still) a massive fan of Mass Effect, I loved the atmosphere and music etc of the first 3 + the story. This one takes you on a nostalgia trip and the game isn't too bad. There would have been DLC (with the race that wan't in it turning up, don't wanna spoil anthing) if they'd have just released in a good state. It was too much for the team they gave it to, Mass Effect is a prized IP and should be only touched by their best devs. Saying that though look at Anthem, that team with some for the other should have done MEA maybe.

TheEbayCowboy

I played a month ago and got into MP games easily. Might’ve changed now, who knows, but there’s people still playing. I think you mean ME3. 2 didn’t have MP.

StopSaveRestart

I can't imagine anyone playing multiplayer now, was a wait only a month after release to join a team. And add to the fact it was nowhere as near as good as the MP on ME 2

Dantess

This sums up my feelings on it too. Excellent foundation for a game but didn't have anywhere near the writing standard of the original games. I got into Andromeda enough to get the platinum trophy. I made my character and got behind him all the way, but the side characters weren't that compelling and the villains felt a bit generic after the epic forces you were up against in the original trilogy. Just a decent game!

BluesFanUK

I just completed this, one grind of a trophy away from the plat. I played much of it on V1.0 to make use of the leveling exploit to save me some time. I've actually had more freezing issues since I updated to V1.10. Got to 70 hours and then clocked the Insanity difficulty in a few hours with a biotic god build. I think on balance the good outweighs the bad. The Research/Development system was poorly implemented and moving between planets/areas can be a test of patience, but many of the glitches can be resolved with a save and reload, which is quite quick and drops you back at the point of save. The combat system is fun and I liked my crew. The only trophy I had difficulty with was the Friendly Fire one, look it up before you start your game to save you an additional playthrough.

Noveed

I think the re-masters are definitely coming. Bioware currently working on a number of projects. - Anthem 2.0 (although radio silence on that front for obvious reasons) - New Dragon Age - Mass Effect Original Trilogy Remasters including a rumoured switch port too.

biffothebear

Once they'd fixed this game, it wasn't too bad to be fair. The gameplay mechanics were/are absolutely spot on, and if they inserted them into hypothetical remasters of 1, 2 and 3 I'd be all over them. The only thing letting it down was the script & general story. It just felt a bit flat all the way through. It's certainly worth it at this price though, and you will have fun. Just don't expect ME2 levels of brilliance.

FoxTwist

This game sadly had alot of development issues with ea dictating the direction and what game engine that bioware should use. Same happened with anthem. What I will say though is alot of the bugs have now been ironed out and it runs alot better. I personally enjoyed the deep customisation of armour and weapons and powers. Wouldn't of said no to a canon on the nomad like we did on the mako though. (y) Definitely worth a go a this price.

If you like story, don’t skip ME1. As the games go on, graphics can gameplay get better but story declines a bit

iceburglettuce

If you haven’t played any of these yet, you may find getting through ME1 a struggle. It’s quite clunky compared to 2 & 3. It is worth persevering for the ongoing plot lines and for consequences if the the decisions you made following though (to some degree). However, don’t give up if you don’t get on with ME1, as ME2 and 3 are two of the best games I’ve played and then replayed (I don’t finish many game let alone replay them). If so, just skip ME1

EugeneVictorTooms

Nope. That’s where they sting you on Origin! Usual price is around £25 each for the dlc for ME2&3. I believe ME3 dlc is on sale at £9.99 right now though!

chrisjordan666

Noob question but do these include any DLC?

EugeneVictorTooms

I’d pay full price for a decent jump in resolution, texture and a stable 60 FPS for ps4/xb1...as long as all the DLC was included. A remake like you describe though... *drool*

1 & 2 are on Steam, but 3 is Origin only. I think the DLC for 2 & 3 is Origin only, and the DLC is a must to get the full enjoyment out of it. Origin is fine, much more stable than it used to be. Better than uPlay and Epic IMO, although still not a patch on Steam. I generally only use it for games I can't get on Steam. Yeah, 1 is good, but it isn't until Virmire when you find out what the reapers are that I started getting really invested in it. But 2 is leaps and bounds better. 3 is great too, although people were put off by the ending which didn't bother me as the game is about the journey not the destination.

peakbear

Cheers, I would rather have it on Steam but very tempted by an 83p key on Origin. Can you even get it on Steam? I assume by copy of Mass Effect I came from Humble Bundle as I can't think why else I owned it. Great game though, even if the entire combat/equipment stuff was a bit clunky. I even played it perfectly reasonably on my Atom powered netbook.

Rhoobarb

Currently 4.49 on Origin, or 83p for an Origin key on Gamivo. https://www.gamivo.com/product/mass-effect-2

rufioh

Amazing price for the game, and £10 for the DLC isn't bad if you don't already own it on another platform. I already own it all on PS3 and don't want to spend so much on it again, but as it's Origin only I'm not expecting to ever see a palatable price.

TheCostOfLies

My issue with this game is that it left its original audience behind, for better or worse. I was 24-29 when the OG trilogy was released, and Shepard is 29 in ME1 and no more than 31-32 by ME3. I could relate to the characters directly. Aspirationally want to be in that world -In that crew. I was of that generation. Now I'm nearer 40 than 30, and Andromeda's characters are barely out of their teens. This team is much younger than Shepard's crew, and I feel like it's targeting a new audience. A younger one. I no longer relate to the emotions, the drama, post-teen angst, and so it feels alienating. On the surface doing this makes a lot of sense, until you realise that the most successful franchise reboot/ sequels take their audience with them - make allowances for that gap and try to bridge it. See Gears of War 4, God of War, Metal Gear Solid, Max Payne, The Witcher 3, Assassins Creed (Ezio trilogy) etc etc. This is a very good game for the price, but it's not the world or characters that OG fans were invested in. It's hard to pretend you're in your 20s again (lol)

RickDoyle

I was just giving an alternate viewpoint to what seems to be the general consensus. Yours is very much the opinion of the majority, but a lot of people (not saying you) tried the game before the bug fixes and still slate the game ignorantly. It riles me. Or maybe I root for the underdog too often, he writes loading up his PlayStation with Fallout 76. :)

RadiantDuck

That's fair enough. Mine was just my opinion! I'm happy for you to have yours!

RickDoyle

I recently replayed the trilogy after completing Andromeda again and I much preferred Andromeda! The gameplay, combat and scope are far superior to Shepherd's romp across the galaxy. Also, it gets panned for not being as good as a trilogy. You can't compare it to three fully fleshed out RPG games. If it spawned two sequels, it would have had the same level of creativity and content as the first. It deserved DLC!

Rico_Uk

Well as someone who spent ALOT of time with this game I have to say I had alot of fun with it! It's true to say it's not as good as the original games but in it's own right it is a very good game! The story is definitely the weakest point that is true however the game mechanics and some of the locations are drop dead gorgeous! It's such a beautiful game it just feels a bit disjointed in parts and the quests are a bit dull. It does kind of make up all it's failings with some really nice set pieces and its frenetic gameplay. It's such a shame as if it was given a bit more time in development it could have been a solid 8 out of ten, I would rate it a respectable 6.5 out of 10 almost a seven just misses out for the lacklustre story, poor animation in parts and generic bad guy.
