Large frame only. MBR hardtail of the year (direct sales category).

The spec on this is amazing for £950, let alone £855.

Highlights include:
  • RockShox 35 Gold Air 130mm travel (35mm stanchions = increased stiffness)
  • 12 speed drivetrain with clutch derailleur
  • Shimano hydraulic brakes
  • Dropped chainstays (= no chain slap)

Caveat: I don't currently own a bike but have been doing a lot of research (including getting advice from friends with experience) and this value is very hard to beat. I've not come across a bike for less than £1400 which beats it across the board in terms of spec - typical compromises include:
  • Worse fork (reduced travel/coil spring/smaller stanchions)
  • Clutchless derailleur
  • 10 speed drivetrain
  • Drop outs rather than thru axles.

If anyone buys this bike sort something out to stop the cables rubbing on the frame at the front, seen in a review that this has happens, it won MBR's hardtail of the year with a 10/10 score, skip to the last part of the video to see it's review

Helicopter tape is good for stopping cable wear to paintwork. Used on my Brompton

Wires should be fed through frame at this price bracket. Looks cheap having them run down like that. Whyte got good deals on, look far better

Why? It's just for looks and makes the bike harder to work on.

Have you got any links the the Whyte?

Doesn't look much like a mountain, though.

EDIT: come to think of it, my road bike doesn't look much like a road. Not sure where these naming conventions come from. (edited)

I've gone for this, added a BLC code for 10% off and then tried to order it through cycle to work. Will be a steal if it works!

I'm wanting to do the same. Did you have the cycle2work voucher already and therefore paid online with it? I haven't applied for a voucher yet so not how to order it with the blc discount at this stage

I've been waiting for this but need to get my cycle2work voucher sorted asap. Spec wise it's unbeatable. Just a pity it isn't one of the better looking bikes imo. Still, I'm getting one.

Get the On One Hello Dave at £999. Much better deal

What's the main benefit over this?

The Hello Dave and the Bizango are pretty different. Both great, in thier own way. The Hello Dave is heavy but strong, best suited to 'winch and plummet' rides, where its geometry and components will cope with most things. The Bizango Pro is 1.3kg lighter and more of a general mixed use XC type bike. It'll do a lot more than gravel and canal paths (I know as I have a Bizango 2020, done thousands of offroad miles on it) and will get through must stuff, but it won't be as happy on a big drop, for example, as the Hello Dave. The Hello Dave is a bargain at a grand, the Bizango good value and adaptable at £855.
