It's not free there is a £20 activation fee.

This should be displayed so others do not go through the process of registering and providing personal details and credit card numbers.

    Cold.

EDIT: I have tried again to navigate through the app however I cannot get past the payment confirmation screen. It tries to take a 0.01 payment but my bank rejects it each time.

Has anyone else been succesful in adding a card/payment method to the app? (edited)

I did but it was about 4 years ago, I can remember it taking a penny. I hired one for a week. I think it was a fiver for casual user for a year but daily rate a bit higher So impressed I purchased one.

Careful they charged me some renewal fee a year after I used it once, just make sure you cancel that if you don’t want to continue using the service. Company is legit, think it is run by Brompton themselves and they respond to emails but it is clunky experience. Locker machine took 10 seconds to register each button press which causes some confusion.

Did you have to pay the annual subscription to access the bike?

FYI you will have to register with your address, payment card and perform KYC in order to do a rental. Not worth it just to take up the free rides.

It’s a ploy to capture users nothing more.

Isn't that kind of the point of a free trial? :/

What what I've read it is :
Prices for hire range from a £5 annual fee and £10 daily charge for occasional users and £20 annual fee and £5 daily charge for frequent users

Not sure whether the annual fee applies for this offer though

When attempting to hire a bike it first asks for the £20 annual fee. The code strike was not recognised at the first stage, I couldn't see a way to progress beyond the £20 annual payment so it may work at the final stage. Ultimately, I was not going to pay the £20 to get a "free" £5 ride (that cost me £20). (edited)

    Sounds like a London-centric offer.

Y'know, London being the capital of the world.

Can you explain your comment so it is understanable for other interested people.

Just spoken with live chat who said that there may be an account authorisation hold for security purposes, but the hire is free and if people have been charged that fee, they will look into refunds

Cold from me, none within 100 miles of me. Also, seems to be a marketing ploy as the comments show

Has anyone found and confirmed this deal, or is it like subway where hardly any stores actually participate despite being listed?

How do we know the last user has a clean backside. Are the seats cleaned before use?

Recommend not getting in on this. Using a Brompton is the most stressful thing I've ever done as its crack for thieves. They are heavier than any bike you've had and you can't let it out of sight for a second as the replacement costs are awful should you be unlucky.

Had my Brompton for years. Best thing I've ever purchased. Try one and you'll be hooked for life.
