Bought one last year for trimming door bases. I found it split (ripped) the laminate on the door edges at the end of each run. Solved by starting at each end and stopping in the middle.

Good advice that applies to ALL planers, work inwards not outwards.

It's like putting in nails, screws or drilling at the edge of any material, it will split/crack (edited)

Why do you need a web account, can you not just go to the store as you would with b&q

Also wondered this. Have got an account but anyone should just just be able to go in and buy some screws or whatever without handing over personal information.

Thanks Op, need to trim some doors down after fitting new carpets and was planning to hire one of these but for £20 should do the job.

I bought one of these at £20. It's excellent! Trimmed down a door with ease. Saved me calling out a joiner.

Gonna do the switcharoo for £16 this week since I'll be there.

Bought one never used it, out of the return window.

Been using this the past week. It's a bit agricultural, and big so no good for any small woodworking, or getting close to edges etc. OK for taking off door bottoms etc but as the guy above says, it does split most wood it touches.

I couldn't decide between the chocolate brownies Valentine slab from ScrumptiousbyLucy.com a circular saw, or electric planer, but in the end, I bought her this, hope she likes it, otherwise I can always use it
