    Wait for April, imo.

Firstly it avoids the 15%ish price hike for a year, secondly openreach are reducing their wholesale fibre prices from April, which will hopefully result in a bit of a price war. Cityfibre really aren’t happy and have been trying to challenge this with the regulator, but it looks like it’s happening anyway.

No guarantees that there will be better deals than this, but I think it’s more likely than not.

The smart move is to wait for April. (edited)

If I sign up the contract now, does the price hike in April?

No I’ve had it confirmed by chat bubble

I’ve just been on a chat with Vodafone who confirmed I’d be subjected to the price rise if I joined now, and they themselves suggested waiting until April once the price rise has taken effect and getting a deal then.

Total opposite to what they told me

I have the 900 package for last 1yr+ without any issues, speeds are always 800+. Never needed CS except when asking for login details to use my own router which they did instantly over live chat.

Just FYI, I got this same deal with £120 voucher back in November and the voucher has just successfully tracked, and have redeemed it on Amazon.

Going through Topcashback to uSwitch adds an extra £43 cashback in addition to the voucher being £155

Hmm I see £50. I’ve clicked on “uSwitch - Compare Broadband”, is that the one you’re referencing?

I was 1 year with Vodafone and no matter the price will never go back. I must have spent 100h speaking to their customer care with no solutions ever. But experience may vary depending on your area.

Then you’d tailor the package to suit the needs so you’d get cheaper. But agreed, not suitable for everyone.

Ok deal if City Fibre, fantastic deal if its Openreach.

If you can wait I would say sign up for this on April 2nd to avoud the first year of price hikes.

There will definitely be new price for BT/Virgin media/Vodafone broadband services. (Not sure of other providers). But there may or may not be that uwitch gift card options if you delay signing up upto April (edited)

Pro II Fibre 2 is £32.50 for me as their customer with sim plan but will the price increase when I quit the sim plan?
    Myriad's avatar
You get £2-3/mo discount if you have mobile/sim contract, it will automatically remove discount when it cancels. (edited)

Probably the worst broadband I've ever experienced, line stats said 72mb but barely registered above 3mb using various speed test sites.
    Beware
    markandliz's avatar
    Sounds like line problems

£21.75 Mth is a great price for 500mbit. (Heat added).. Shame its 24 mth contract though
  16. Hitme's avatar
I suppose the question is if I sign up today but schedule the install after April does the April rise apply? I assume it probably will so going to hold off right now. But £30 a month for Openreach 500mb is pretty good
    TheBargainMan's avatar
Yes price will go up. I had 3 customer service agents confirm it to me

I managed to get the 900 package with them just before Xmas for £30 a month. Think it’s 24 month contract unfortunately and not sure about price hike. The city fibre connection has been >900 up and down and fine up to now. Had an issue with the Voda router setup pages being a bit slow and glitchy but their online chat is pretty good and solved it by pushing a firmware update.

    Did this back in Sept.

Come december after the qualifying period, i sent them an email, they asked for the order number - and a few days later i had the giftcard!

Also ... top cashback did track
  19. m1kehunt's avatar
Currently with BT paying £44 mth for 300mbit - do you think it's worth ringing them to see if they'll match the offer (BT has been rock solid for me)
  20. Anthonyuk's avatar
You might as well call this deal £35 as in 4 weeks time this is the price you will be paying for the first year then £40 for the second.
  21. kwl147's avatar
Yeah good luck getting that in Birmingham.

Open reach said they were upgrading my network. Seen 3 vans on multiple occasions around the neighbourhood and 2 years later…

    Absolutely nothing has changed.

    Ridiculous.
