Don't you need to include the £18 in the deal price, not sure you can avoid that first month.

Many thanks for posting OP, made me finally consider signing up for an O2 Refresh deal. I've been with O2 for a long time and sim only for a few years (£8-£10 per month range). Phoned up O2 to ask about the X5 Pro and they said because I had been with them for a long time, they would give me a £140 discount off the Device Plan. I then bought a Samsung off ebay for £60 and have today received a confirmation email that I will receive £180 trade in (including the £150 promotion) via the O2 Recycle scheme, so well chuffed have got the X5 Pro phone for £330.

And just to be clear, you cancel after a month because that obviously gives you time to get the trade-in payment, yeah?

Heat added, looks a great deal. (edited)

Looking at a OPPO Find X5 Pro. The pre-built basic 2GB plan for this phone is based on a 36 month device plan and the T&C's state the airtime plan has to run as long as the device plan.

So, into the 'Customise Plan' it seems is the way to go for this phone. Regardless of the term and upfront cost, the device price remains the same at £591.90. The minimum plan available is 3 months so, if I choose the maximum upfront cost of £550, the resulting 3 monthly payment are £31.97. The total cost is therefore £645.91. When we then factor in the £150 trade in, this brings it down to just under £500.

Seeing as it's selling on Amazon for £799, this appears a great deal. Am I missing something?

Actually, just reading the T&C's again, it states

'Pay off your Device Plan at any time without charge. You can then keep on your Airtime Plan, upgrade or leave. If your Airtime Plan ends for any reason (including for switching to another operator) you will need to pay your Device Plan in full.'

So I assume I can pay off the device plan on receipt of phone and only pay for one months airtime at £18 (and possibly not even that according to some comments).

That will save at least another £36 making the phone around £460. This just gets better......

I was thinking of getting this then cancelling the monthly plan pretty much straight away as I already have a great o2 SIM only deal. How would this work with the £150 trade in? It implies it gets added to your airtime plan?

What's this phone like for the price? My wife has a p30 pro and she's looking to upgrade. Is there something better for a similar price with trade in?
