1 ½ hours to charge fully.
It might be me sometimes that forgets to charge but I have a 3½ year old realme x2 pro that only takes 30minutes to fully charge.
They have the same processor (Tensor G2) and the same main camera. But the Pro has a few extra cameras such as a wider angled ultrawide camera, better macro-shot functionality and the Pro has a telephoto lens whereas the vanilla 7 doesn't.
The 7 Pro also has a larger screen (6.7" versus 6.3").
To be honest. If you're the type that simply gets your phone out and does point and shoot pictures without messing too much with the different cameras then just get the vanilla 7. If you value telephoto shots then get the Pro.
Waiting for the 8 is the same logic and considering the 9 when the 8 comes out. If you're in the market for a phone right now, buy one. If not, buy one when you are, when ever that is. Waiting for tech is pointless as they're released annually and you'll just end up in a paralysis cycle of waiting for ever. (edited)

Longterm it reduces confidence in the product, you have too many people who are just waiting and then the next iPhone comes out… with some degree of stable “value”. If Google believe the phone devalues 30% in 4 months you have a real problem - the phone was overly priced to begin with.
Currys did a similar deal too which is much more reliable than Amazon's trade-in programme regards speed.
In any case, this is a good deal if you want the convenience of a straight purchase without the hassle of trading in a phone etc.
That convenience comes at a premium compared to trade-in programmes but some people will be willing to accept that. (edited)
