Not that I have tried or owned 6a, but the 6a is regarded as one of those top budget phones and still is I believe especially for that price tag.
If you can stack topcashback, quidco and other coupons and even any discounts from google 1 services and get it right down to something silly like £100-150 then it maybe worth it imo.
So the competition has not been the best, but its a lovely phone so snappy and fast and the 6.1" size is good in the hand, I don't like the bigger handsets at all.
Battery life is still up for debate but it has been mentioned some were fine others not so much, I could see with heavy use you probably would need a top up at mid or end of day if not 2 mini top ups, but I have yet to let the adaptive battery learn my usage which I hear takes a week or so.
The stock google experience is smooth as butter, not tried the camera or other cool features but just wanting to get it up and running.
This is a decent deal if you can get the phone down in cost as much as you can, topcashbacks, trade ins etc I paid £300 from mozillion hotuk deals offer so @ that price its a no brainer you might wish to keep an eye on deals or wait for a few months when pixel8 arrives and prices will drop on 7 and 7a more so.
Not sure how this would compare to that or if I should stick with Samsung, going for an S22 or 23 which are more expensive.
I think we might see similar trade in deals with pixel8 and that sounds much more worthy to jump onto you just might not get the same trade in price deals naturally.
Not reached that point yet though on my unit.
I went through 3 devices before Google finally refunded the original cost of the phone due to random overheating.
They're nearly there, but there's always something not quite right.
Jokes, nice deal (edited)
I like the pixels but there always seems to be a hidden compromise that spec sheets don’t reveal.
Going to trade in my Pixel 5 for £135. Not bad.
Shame though as I've loved the Pixel 5.
I'll buy a 7a from Amazon for this price.
Either way good job at least you get the 7a
£135 for a Pixel 5.
I just do not really trust sending my phone in to anyone (and have not heard great things about Google Trade Ins)...
Hoping to see a nice Currys in store "fuss free" trade in deal soon. (edited)
Be warned, the battery is pretty horrendous and the phone gets hot.... i love my Pixal 7a but the battery is genuinely bad and sadly i couldn't return it as i missed the date. For this price its pretty damn nice. (edited)
Just curious since it is a big complaint on the 7as, but many say the adaptive battery should learn the habits.
I have been using chrome, banking apps, news apps and still on 64% after 12 hours, am suspecting camera ,YT and games may kill the battery?
might not be able to stack both but better then nothing.
Wondering from what I've seen if the pixel line of phones is a good next choice. Looking mid range not flagship but again there is just a sea of options!
Slow charging compared to the Chinese brands is the main bugbear of the Pixel.
