Full wheel alignment CHECK, so it's not the actual aligning...

I have used ATS and the Groupon voucher for the last 3 years and can vouch that the 2 local ATS garages I use have been great  even when it failed on discs and pads I took it somewhere else and back to ATS for a resit never had any problems

Yep, last year passed without advisories, this year passed with one advisory on brakes, which I knew needed changing anyways. I've had no problem with the Newton Abbot branch.

Great if car passes, if it fails then £20 retest fee could be applicable. Also wheel alignment for 2 front is £55

Not that great if you drive an old banger like I have....

My local ATS are fine. They have MOTd my car for the past 5 years on these cheap deals.

Car is now 18 years old.

Best to go to a friendly MOT place than these scam artists

Never ever had any issues with ats nor kwik fit for my mot. Always passed, never upsold anything. People like to parrot the old clichés

No, this isn't a scam to "find" things wrong with your car.

While not neccessarily a scam; I can't imagine many cars will pass their wheel alignment check unless they have had it done recently.

I overheard a local mechanic at our ATS bragging he managed to add £300+ of extras onto the previous client. they were just acting very shifty and wanted to add all sorts of work onto my tyre safety check (had a split in wall of tyre). I left and went elsewhere.

MOT is often used as an easy way to put pressure and generate more repair work, seen this many times even at main dealerships. I would always go to a trusted garage even if its full price MOT and do the servicing separately at competitive prices. (edited)

An hour before my MOT got an email from ATS saying their emissions machine is broken and they can't do the MOT. What on earth? They don't even know when it will be fixed and advised me to get a refund and book it somewhere else. Really messed me around

They are using that excuse more and more I've noticed. It depends how busy they are! My Mot was about to expire so I dug my heals in and surprise surprise they fitted me in! So much for the faulty emissions machine.... (edited)
