Down by £88.02 vs the price back in January, which is much more palatable this time around. The CPU is an 8 core i7 (9th Gen) sat in there alongside 16GB RAM and 512GB of SSD storage. It will ship with a brand new keyboard and mouse in the box too.

This one might be fairly niche for the most part, but seems fair enough for a little Dell machine, for those that want a tiny PC.

You will need to use code DT33 at the checkout for this price.

What would this be like as a plex server?

I'd build your own, depending how many internal drives you want, you could build something in a small form factor case with a Ryzen 5600G for only a bit more than this deal, for example with prices as of right now rather than stated prices (just an example, I've not gone hunting for best deals or specific components beyond a 5600G):

    Case £33 (C&C to Currys) hotukdeals.com/dea…283
*note I haven't checked but this case supposedly supports mATX boards (hence board below) and 2x 3.5" drives plus 2x 2.5" drives.
    PSU £49 (delivered) ebuyer.com/141…0bn
    B550M board £90 (delivered) hotukdeals.com/dea…864
    Ryzen 5600G £112 (delivered) hotukdeals.com/dea…442
    16GB DDR4 £39 (delivered) hotukdeals.com/dea…048
    1TB SSD £49 (delivered) 1TB - Kingston NV2 NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSD M.2 2280 -SNV2S/1000G (up to 3,500/2,800MB/s) - £48.99 delivered @ Amazon | hotukdeals

Total around £372 without OS, plus Windows 10 from various key sites around a tenner if wanted.

Edit: Sorry forgot PSU originally. (edited)

6.3% topcashback on Dell Refurbs too, they mention the DT33 code on their page so it should track fine.

Could I put a low profile GPU in this and use for VR with Quest 2?
    nige182's avatar
No, this is a Micro PC, there is no slot for a GPU and not enough space inside for one at all. You probably could use a m.2 to PCIe adapter cable and a GPU externally, you'd also need a power supply for the GPU and it would be a rather DIY solution, but people do it for Youtube.

    Terrible spec, massively overpriced.

If you want to save a bit of money, these do popup on ebay with the i5 9500T for around £150-180:
    ebay.co.uk/sch…c=1

    Around 23% slower than the i7 9700T:

Note that the 3070 will popup mostly, not really much of a difference apart from you're missing USBC and the build quality is a bit cheaper.

Nice, the i7 models of these hold value pretty well too. A slight shame it isn't 10th gen as that would have added hyperthreading, but still very nice. (edited)

Wondering if this would be a worthy upgrade for my current 6400 running Plex and my personal cloud.
    acholmes2000's avatar
If the current system is struggling you might get a bit more mileage out of this but if not probably best to wait a while.

Nice! I have a couple of Lenovo Tiny machines I am very happy with. In them I have PCIe cards. Does the 3070 have space for a PCIe card, and if so, does it need an obscure riser?

I like the lenovo brand and I'm after a tiny pc for my daughter. Only needed for general homework and you tube. What model do you have?

Will this be okay for my parents pc. they want tone for sending emails and surfing the internet. Not looking for gaming or video editing.

I would also consider a Beelink NUC sized desktop from Amazon.
They are very regularly one of their deals of the day.
The AMD 5000 series start at about £325 and they often have a voucher that reduces the price.
So look at a few of them, as once you include the voucher, the more expensive ones can be a better deal.

    Hi.

For monitor connection. What adaptors do you need for this? I have an old DELL running on windows 8 & looking to upgrade

The current DELL has the traditional SVGA connector.

    Thanks for your help.
    MarkDa2001's avatar
Looking at the back of the unit they seem to have two display ports so you would need an adapter for that
  14. BadGoy's avatar
You can get 12100 for the same price. Cold imo.

I have the thinkcentre equivalent of this. My main gripe is the loudness of the fan. Can anyone who has the sell one tell me if this one gets loud?
    Memes101's avatar
Set CPU performance max to 99% to stop fan spin up. Lose boosting but a lot quieter
