In with my usual comment to answer heat pump / cost questions.
Save me retyping it out
A++ (heat pump) Vs A+++ (heat pump)
A++ (heat pump) Vs A+ (heat pump)
B (condensor) Vs A+ (heat pump)
hotukdeals.com/com…158
In summary, assuming 3 full loads a week (156 times a year). Scale this up/down with your own usage. Based on 34p/kWH
A+++ is £19 cheaper than A++.
A++ is £25 cheaper than A+.
A+ is £120 cheaper than B.
Most heat pumps are A++, so save £145 Vs a condenser/vented model.
Note - The costs are based on the EU test, which is running the cotton mode, with a full load, water content at 60%, suitable ambient room temperature. Most washing machines will spin out more water, so savings likely to be less in real world use.
So long as you get a good warranty (5 year, as they are susceptible to breakdowns based on others hukd comments), heat pumps in the £400-650 range are worth it.
Heat pumps dont use your ambient temperature in the house to heat the clothes. It does have its own heater (mini compressor like fridge freezer) the reason for needing an ambient temperature is that below say 10C the heat in dryer will leak out via conduction faster than it can make it so it won't dry clothes. However some people have managed to run some heat pumps below this without an issue, but it's likely model dependant. so check the manual for the machine as to its required ambient temperature requirements (edited)
Mostly a gimmick I guess but if you like tech then it can remind you when its done, see the energy use and download different dryer settings
Our Samsung Fridge, dead under 2 years, Samsung TV lines in the screen 1yr 1month, Samsung Microwave worked with the door open!
Obviously this can't be everything they make but quality control is lacking.
Samsung microwave for 6 years never an issue and Samsung heat pump dryer for 1 year so far and it has been great and so energy efficient compared to our old condenser
They don't get as hot as those with electric heaters, so are gentle on clothes. But as they don't get as hot they can take longer to dry. In our experience with the Bosch the heat pump dries almost as fast as a normal condenser but at half the energy cost (see post above yours).
Just be aware most models of heat pumps need to be in the house, not an unheated garage etc.
You can convert a garage, or atleast add insulation and draft proofing. If you actively use the garage door, it's worth investing in a roller door as they work well to keep the heat in. But of course the walls, ceiling, roof can all leak heat.
Best thing to do is check the manual of the heat pump and see what the manual says about minimum ambient temperature. It might be some machines are better insulated than others so can work in colder environments. (edited)
This one any good?
Also good idea to put alert on tumble dryer
Only used 0.563kwh as well!
Gutted that I paid more than this current price. Glad it comes with the 5 year warranty too, so that's me sorted for £120 per year!
I bought this one a couple of weeks ago for £579 and used it a few times - very impressed with it!

It will say "Smart Control" on the site (edited)
I have to tried cotton , bedding and mixed cycles.
Also it isn't clear what the difference is with the higher up series models.
There isn't any additional features or capacity it seems?
The guts appear the same, you just get a different look, or some minor extra features such as smart things or air wash etc, which if you just want to thrown in your wet washing and press start they all appear to do the same.
In the end I opted for this one as it'll dry your clothes exactly the same as all the more expensive ones.
Plus come with Samsung 5 years parts and labour warrenty is a bonus.
