This is the minimum you'd buy today for 1440p (no RT). Nvidia's 3070 is OK for some RT, but the ref version is 140 more and has a deal-breaking 8GB.

For people looking to upgrade, but who can afford to wait say 6 months, it is hard to know what to do- Nvidia is converting its 3070 class chips to 3060 (non-ti) class cards (yes really) to avoid a collapse in the cost of better performance- to protect the market for the really awful 4000 class mid/low end cards releasing soon.

The killer part is the 6800- 16GB, good power- OK 1440P RT. It really is worth a good 100 over the 6700. I'm hoping by Summer, direct form China 6800 parts will have the same incredible value as direct from China 5700 (sub-200) cards have today. The Chinese products are made using the 'mobile' parts, which gives even better power performance. Otherwise the wait is for RDNA4.

Seems like a decent upgrade over my current 1660S, would people agree? Thx

Definitely an upgrade. This is on par with an RTX 3070, capable of running most games in 1440p with high settings

To anyone else who got this GPU, is yours okay?
I got and installed mine a few days ago and I've had a few issues: I'm unable to watch YouTube. Every few seconds it freezes/glitches, turning off hardware acceleration seems to have fixed this but still annoying.
    2. It sounds like a buzzing bee at times, almost like there's a tiny cable caught in the fan (there definitely isn't, I've checked) probably just coil whine, but my god it's quite bad
    3. Had a few crashes where everything completely freezes until I power off my PC. never happened on my old GPU
Other than that, the performance is amazing having upgraded from RX 580 (edited)

I haven't had all the problems you had, but when I load up some very heavy games, the coil whine is pretty bad without my headphones on. That's about it though, YouTube works well for me without having to turn off hardware acceleration. Might be a defective unit?

I really want a 1440p build but the past few years of prices has put a bad taste in my mouth with buying pc parts now

If it makes you feel better, this is what I paid for an RX 5700 XT pre-pandemic. This is a very good price, especially when you consider it has 12gb of VRAM, which not even the RTX 3080 has

Missed the boat when the code came in last time around, by the time I saw it they already increased prices. Pulled the trigger this time

Absolutely! If I wasn't holding out for a processor I'd be all over this

Ordered, thank you. Been searching like a madman looking for a good price on this for the past week. Ordered one for £346 on Amazon and they ended up never dispatching it. Ebuyer are trustworthy so very happy!

Reasonable price. Wont say it's a 'great deal', but this is something that's actually worth buying at least. That's 2080Ti-like performance(raster) for £345. Not bad.

This also qualifies for The Last of Us Part 1 game bundle.

Thanks for this comment, had to message them about it but they eventually sent the code over

Theyve got an MSI Mech 6700xt up now for £9 more.

Far better card imo, worth the extra £9

Got this card this week. If your happy to stick to 1080 resolution then your laughing. You can ramp up everything to max no problems.

I paid about £380 including delivery a few weeks ago directly from Ebuyer... but I am still happy with the upgraded performance!
