    This is tempting but I have a PS5 😩

I’ve bought it at launch waiting for the PS5 to restock. Later on I ended up buying a ps5 and reselling it while I kept my series S. I sold the ps5 due to the lack of AAA exclusives and only now I’m considering buying another one., the series S is a beast with gamepass.

Wait for an Amazon warehouse event if you can wait and want to risk it. Got one for £150 in December.
This is still a good price though and it's a surprisingly capable console.

WHy they always bump the prices up and are selective in which items are listed.

Warehouse events are waste of time now many years ago they was good.

I agree with £150 that is around the price these should be at £160 max so not sure why people think this is a good deal at £180 when even cex sell them for that price point dicounted ones that is so you know it's inflated price (cex only pay £70-80 for them)

I bought one of these from Amazon warehouse in the Black Friday sale, it was described as “used - like new”. On arrival the Xbox was dusty, scratched and the controller didn’t work at all. I then had to wait a month for the refund

They're weird with their grading sometimes. I bought one recently that was Acceptable and it was basically New.

How many consoles can you have as you main account and share your Game Pass on?

I use my PlayStation Plus for example on a PS4 and PS5. I'm not sure if I could add to this too, but is useful for multiple roons.

You can only have one Xbox as your "home console" which shares any games on that machine with other users signed in. However you can sign into any other xbox with your account and play your games fine, it just won't share with any other users signed in on that other console.

Picked one up around this price last year - absolute emulation powerhouse and a great 2nd / bedroom console to consume Game Pass on!

Good if you're in a hurry, but I got this brand new in December for the same price and on a monthly installment option. That's actually how I justified buying it because I was bit of a brand snob.

I was going to use this as a holdover until I was finally able to locate a ps5 (without ridiculous inflated price), but honestly, I don't even want one now. Backwards compatible titles and Developer mode have been a blast.

Sony played hard to get, now I've moved on. (edited)

Comical to call this a next gen console. Worse than a PS4 Pro

Rubbish. Digital Foundry found the Series S to be more capable across the board. Several other analyses by other websites found the same. They are comparable in some respects given their GPU output is similar in terms of teraflops but that's where the similarities end.

I paid around £150 on eBay and as my secondary, 'game pass' machine I'm enjoying it a lot . The resolution of the games are mostly 1080p-1440p, which isn't ideal on a large 4K TV, but I still say go for it if you're interested in Game Pass or some of the Xbox exclusives [and the upscaling means the games are still going to look decent enough unless you sit quite close to the screen]. I wouldn't call it a true next-gen machine as it's not displaying games at a native high resolution, but it still supports 120fps, VRR, auto HDR, Quick Resume, Dolby Vision (which isn't on my PS5) and fast loading... so it's an amazing bargain. It's also a tiny console and looks really good imo! (edited)

Piracy has been part of the home gaming world since the beginning.

And it's not all bad, either.

I didn't pay for Championship Manager as a kid, but as an adult I buy it dutifully for full price every autumn (even though I don't have time to play it).

I dunno. I sort of feel like I owe them. And I'm far from alone here. Know a lot of grown ups who are very loyal to franchises they were kind of forced to pirate back in the days when we were but poor kids. (edited)

What does it mean when the conditions says

Item will come in original packaging inside another box. Original packaging will be damaged.

Does this mean the Xbox will be unused?

You're probably better off wing Amazon. They're the ones who'd be liable if you don't get what you expect.

Technically this is a good price.

But check your local marketplace etc as they go as low as £100/120

    finally bought one, thanks OP.

The console would not fully boot up, stuck on the update issue.
I ended up doing a full OS restore from USB.

The pad is also problematic, but I found potential fix solutions on the Argos/Amazon current controller threads - will try that soon. Meantime, bought a new one from Argos - went for a USB-cabled one - more positive comments.
