I'm not impressed with Luna. It's pretty blocky/artefacts and bad latency just like xbox cloud. (for me at least) And I'm on 1gig fibre connection with expensive orbi mesh system, using it with ethernet too, so I know it's not my Internet, maybe the closest node that they connect to aren't great where I am?

Stadia and geforce now are/were much better. Hopefully it improves a lot, it won't ever replace my console or pc but it's a handy thing to just jump into.

But in it's current state it's just not playable. (for me) (edited)

I'm on 36mb internet and have, so far, had no problems using Luna, playing both Fortnite and Resident Evil 2.
In fact, I've found it much smoother than Xbox Cloud gaming, and I'm running it on a Fire Stick Lite!

    Did Amazon buy stadia?

Nope. And there's no ownership feature with Luna like Stadia had (except for Ubisoft PC titles), so I'd say this service is closer to PS Plus Premium or Game Pass Ultimate rather than Stadia

This is great. I've got prime, so I get the base luna for free. I've got an ubisoft account from 7 years ago with about 5 games I've collected. Far cry 4 is one of them, and it's one of the included games. So basically I can play it for free with my tablet and a xbox controller. Sorted. I've also got ac odyssey, so that'll be up next. It's smoother than xbox gMepass streaming for me,. Double win.

Played Tetris effect on this and it was absolutely unplayable, shockingly bad lag and low FPS. Seemed to work well when playing RE2 though. Not sure I get the point in only having one month to try and finish a game? Also the selection is extremely limited. I mean it's cool that it's free but not sure what the appeal would be for paying for Luna Plus. (edited)

Just tried it for the first time and it was flawless . Thank god my part of the world finally got full fiber.

Now if Amazon gets it to work in Firefox that would be the icing on the cake.

I've played it a bit - it works very well. If you get Chrome on your Android phone and a bluetooth gamegrip thing for it, its a steamdeck-like experience and it uses very little battery power because all the work is done on the server so you can play for hours. You can use Luna to play games you already own from Ubisoft and you can use NVidia's Geforce Now to play games you own on steam (although the queues for that are horrendous these days unless you subscribe - Luna has very short queues).
Keep in mind all your saved games are stored on the server too though so I don't ever play too far into any game that is only available for a month. I just try them and if I like them I'll look out for them on the Steam sales.
