Please can you offer some advice?

I would like to buy a 77 inch LG oled before May. It's going to be wall mounted.

I'm going to pick between the c2, g2, and g3 (if it is suddenly on offer). You can get the g2 for around £3300 at the moment.

(obviously) I'd like to purchase it when the price is at its lowest, and would be prepared to pay a little more for the g3 if there was a deal (unlikely). I don't want to replace it for at least 5 years.

If you had a budget of around 2700-3300 which one would you go for? Do you all think this Costco / John Lewis l deal likely going to be the best price for the c2? Will £3300 be the lowest for a g2?

I know Costco have the 30 day price match, but I'm not sure if the prices will drop once the c3 and g3 are officially in stores.... What happened last year?

    Thank you (edited)

The G3 won't be on offer until atleast black Friday. It's going to cost a fortune on release (prices have been announced)

Best sale prices are usually on the older model, so in this case the G2 come May-July. Getting the best price is difficult as it might sell out, and you never know how low it will go.

Honestly, given the improvement in the G3 it "might" be worth waiting. If it's going into a living room where there are some reflections, windows where the light can't be controlled the extra brightness will really help.

Sales happen in early November ahead of black Friday / cyber Monday. Might be cheaper on the day, but usually the prices drop early.
Then again for boxing/January day sales
You get the odd drop around March as new models hit the shelves
But the clearance prices is May-July, can drop at any moment, these are the best prices.
This pattern repeat every year since I started looking in 2018.

The C2 and C3 are basically the same, I would guess them priced between £2150-2500 when in clearance.
The G2 is brighter than the C2 but it's not a night and day difference, unlike G2 to G3. The main benefit going to the G2 is the flush wall mounting.

The G2 not so sure as I never considered getting them, not until the G3 MLA tech was announced anyway. (edited)

Don’t forget RS will pm Costco and undercut its price £20 and 6 year warranty and possible Amex £75 (edited)

That's right, just done this. However they won't undercut by £20 because of the costco membership price

So tempted to pull the trigger. Thoughts on waiting until the C3 is announced at the end of this month? I could see this dropping a little more but on the other hand... I want it now!

I bought this in the end. For anyone sitting on the fence about OLED.... Wow. I can't believe how good this looks.

Richer Sounds price matched and gave £50 quid off. Plus six years warranty.

So glad I went for 77 inches!
