Can't see this laptop anywhere else for this price and ticks all the boxes for me. Only issue is I can't find any reviews for this specific model. Only the year before with an Intel 11th gen processor.

    A very good offer.

    Screen: IPS, 1920×1200, FHD+, 16:10, glossy, 60Hz, Delta E<2%, manufacturer states 400 cd/m² - tests show up to 500 cd/m², contrast 1626:1, 100% sRGB, 73%DCI-P3, 71% AdobeRGB
    Processor: Intel Core i5-1240P, 12 cores / 16 threads, 1.8-4.50GHz,12MB+9MB Cache
    Ram: 16GB LPDDR5-5200Mhz,

Support confirmed that the max in this model is 16GB: "RAM in this model is 16GB LPDDR5 5200Mhz Dual channel onboard, meaning that unfortunately it is soldered and cannot be upgraded.

Theoretically Summit E14 EVO A12M is able to support 32GB, however it would have to come pre-installed. The 32GB variant appears to not be available on the UK market."

Drive: 512GB NVMe PCIe Gen4x4 SSD
    Graphics card: Intel® Iris® Xe iGPU, 80EU/640SP, 1.30GHz, "Gen 12.2" architecture (Alder Lake GT2)

Weight: Here every source is a different weight, I see between 1.6kg and 1.9kg (probably 1.6kg, and with cabling and charger 1.9kg)
    Construction: all aluminium
Battery: 72Wh (1080p video playback test at 50% brightness and 25% volume- 10h - has Intel EVO, so 9h+ met), battery charge from 0 to 100% - 2h25min.
    Connectivity: 1x Type-A USB3.2 Gen 2 (10Gb/s), 2x Thunderbolt 4 with chargingPD, 1x Micro SD, 1x HDMI 2.0 (4K @ 60Hz), 1x 3.5mm Audio Combo

Went out of stock almost immediately, seemed like a decent deal.

Probably really dense so I do apologise for any exasperation! Would this double up enough as a gaming laptop for things like Warhammer 40k? My gaming understanding stretches at most to the daily puzzle page app on my phone!

I was looking for something for my Dad that he can run his business (general office suite use) and play games on.

Yes, Warhammer 40K has low requirements and this laptop has Intel Ires Xe graphics which recently are as good as AMD Ryzen Vega graphics. So Warhammer will run smoothly even with this iGPU.

Would have been a decent deal, though a bit on the heavy side.

Curious. Mixed reviews on Amazon. Looks like a top-notch laptop though.

"Currently Unavailable" on Amazon now... but I'd say it was a pretty good deal if you're after a 14" laptop.

My current Dell Inspiron is perfectly functional (i7-10510U / 16G Mem / 1TB SSD)... but I'd be tempted by that MSI at £500 if I have any problems (although I'd prefer to have a 32GB memory capable laptop in the future!)

    Nice post OP (edited)
