I've been after a new Surface Pro 9 for a few months and, by luck, found this deal last night via Google search of all places.

Compared to all the other laptop hardware sites this deal seems to be too good to be true, but it is.

Plus they bundle a Microsoft 365 license for 1 Year plus 3 months extra.

Decent specs too as it is the 12th Gen Intel i5 and 16GB memory model. IMO you need a minimum of 16GB of memory nowadays.

I've ordered one.

Worth putting the 16gb and 256gb in the title as this isn't the base model. Good deal (edited)

    Good point - done.

    Thanks OP, I'm tempted.

Not least because the Surface 9 is the first user - serviceable Surface device, the others being irretrievably welded, well, glued shut. When MS make the parts available, as they have promised to do, you could for instance change the battery.

    Good info.

I still have my Surface Pro 6 from over 4 years ago and that’s running well. Albeit a tad slower on Windows 11 now.
Just need to make sure I never drop it/them!

Looks good, those looking at alternatives, get an Asus Ally (currys pre order) and a decent portable monitor keyboard and mouse. Will be faster than this and you have best of both worlds

I can't tell if you are joking or not.

    Bought for £1149

    Fingers crossed for....

5.5% TCB £63.19, which has already tracked

5% NatWest Rewards £57.45 for using that credit card

NB. TOTUM code for 10% £114.90 did not work (of course)

BLC code for same did not work either. Curry's refuse to do anything except cancel the order and claim BLC is in store only. BLC website and app state code use is okay online. Ticket raised with BLC.

My Surface Pro 6 was absolutely fine.

I got this one delivered yesterday and so far, the SP9 is great. Integrated pen in the keyboard is much better than carrying it separately.
Responsiveness of the pen is fantastic IMO. Touchscreen is also great and works like any normal laptop touchscreen.

Windows 11 tablet mode also works well for me.

For the record, I also use Apple devices. For my line of work though, I need a Windows based device.

More than happy with this purchase.

    Notes:
It's Windows 11 Home Edition. (I upgraded mine with a Windows 11 Pro Key).
The SSD is easily removed from the back of the unit. So you can replace it with a larger sized one, if necessary. (edited)

Microsoft broke the pricing model of these devices after the Pro 7. This would have been a great deal 6 months ago. As it is we are 4 months away from the next generation of SP devices. The device is at least a good spec.

Absolute bargain this deal was. Bought and upgraded hdd to 2TB. Thank you OP!

Good deal, although I prefer SFP8 as it has conexión for 3.5mm Jack audio

Good point. I have wireless pods so not a deal breaker for me, plus wanted the latest generation of Intel CPU.

I'm probably asking for trouble but wouldn't you consider a MacBook Air at this price?
I'm no Apple fanboy, I use a MS Surface at work and have a gaming PC at home but I am in the market for a personal laptop and I can't see a compelling reason to go for this over the Air. Yes you need to add an extra £200 for equivalent RAM but Mac OS is leaner with that sort of thing.

Does the macbook air come with a touch screen and pen for drawing? Also can it be used as a tablet like the surface pro 9? Is it cheaper?

The answer is no to all above so I don't think it's a compelling alternative.

This seems like a really good deal, surprised it hasn't got a lot more heat, or am I missing something... (edited)

I think it is because it's still over £1000. The saving is huge though.

Recommendations for a good USB C to HDMI or DP to connect this to a monitor? and is max output 4k 60 not 4k 120?

Bonus if someone hasa good one for my SP5, cable at rhe moment is a bit dodgy, needs Mini-dp to DP (edited)
