The basic unit is what we can easily be found on the internet in the prebuilt market for a lot more costly than the ranges I show,, however, it is 6Core 12Thread System with Vega 7 Graphics, with enough bite in the PSU area to handle it and palicomp recent drop makes it the leader of the pack again, but also has them Boosters that offer extra power in parts..

Because the above build is a 6Core 12Thread CPU it has that fantastic CPU performance; that easily pairs nicely with a good range of graphic cards, subject to the PSU.

A 5600G is better than a 4500,5500..

Ko/Cit Can easily offer a nice boost and u can head for used graphics on the market, i.e 1600Nvidia series / RX 500 range, upto an RTX3060 or AM6600

The TX 550 By Corsair is a Higher performance gold 550w, - Great for the elec cost being gold, Higher Quality made by Corsair TX series; that can do up to an RTX3060Ti and then you have the 100W V2 Gigabyte 750W dare u wish to take it up further in the graphic department laters.

but remember:

Against major CPU's like Ryzen 5 5600X, they do lack some performance and lack 4.0, so avoid adding a 6400XT or 6500XT, because without 4.0 they run dreadful, other than that other GPUs are no worries for typical GPU good at this budget end..

The +25 1TB SN350 is a lovely price for a booster/

However, despite that Non-X, have Vega 7 Onboard Performance graphics.

Good System for non-Builders, To use as a Vega 7 System, For non-builders who want to add a GPU later and play the market, or even for non-builders who want a GPU now if it means they can play the deals, however, we do have some good ranges of systems with GPUs at a good price in certain areas so check them out, because asking any system build for a 5600x built for cost, without a GPU is going to be considerably more then the value gap (check last video below on the 5600x vs 5600G), so that extra bite isn't worth the value to performance gain if its cost much more to build then the nominal market price gap,. and if ur a self-builder, you clearly u have the option of paying the nominal gap on the CPU,

as for the other parts we got B550, should u want that? and also NVMEs ranges and as mentioned the PSU.

My Recommendation for a typical prebuilt buyer adding GPU laters.

£325 Link + -£25 Discount.
Adding the TUF A520 Motherboard. +10
Adding the TX440 PSU +40
Adding the WD 1TB +25

That's a 375 system.
or an extra +20 for that B550 if u have the intent to exchange CPU's yourself later or someone who wants to run it via 3600mhz.

and if ur budget is tight:

£325 Link + -£25 Discount.
+25 Cit PSU

that's £325; u still have headroom for boosting a GPU later.

or keep to the basic £300; if u no intention of adding a Graphics Card.

Here is some good links for further review.

    Hi Chaps.

AWD has price dropped their AMD 6600 and AMD 6650XT Deals down.

    links are here and here

These two links above are cracking values for AMD System, they certainly beat the comp for direct GPU installs.

    However,

If you are keeping to 4500 on each link, u are better to add a GPU to this 5600G+£20PSU

    Example basis:

    4500/16gb/600w/6600 at £520

Palicomp price is £325-25+20psu+ Add amd card £230 = £550

    AWD-IT 4500 = £520
    AWD-IT 5500 = £550

5600G is better than say 4500/5500

    AWD 5600x is 599.99

"its a shame we dont have AWD 5600.

so if ur looking for an AMD 6600 system guys, u desire that higher 5600X head to awd.

Both sites have +1TB / rams n co. but we talking cross reference.

    AWD-IT 6650xt

    4500 = £609
    5500 = 634
    5600 = 679
    5700x = 729

so lets cross compare again the 480GB set up with 16gb as cross ref, we do b550 or 32gb 1tb after that.

so the cheapest 6650xt is 289 here

    £325 pali - 25 voucher +25 (cit ffx)
    +289 6650xt

    =614

so 5 more at palicomp we exchanging by adding a gpu ourselfs over a AMD 4500 CPU.
£20 less than AMD 5500 and more performance on the 5600G

    and if u want main stream 5600 679 vs 5600g at 615

this AMD system is the best AMD 6600 and 6650XT for value chaps, its been hot on here, its a nice reduction this weekend.

unless u really want that 5600 mainstream, the bottom end is pointless, unless u do not want to add ur own GPU.

and this why im backing 5600G with GPU addons. (within reasons)

my next post will be these AMD systems, in more detail they challenge CCL and all the others for direct GPU, but if ur happy to install GPU, unless main stream 5600/5600X add a GPU instead. (edited)

I'm out of touch with pc hardware. My son's looking for a gaming pc - mainly Minecraft (maybe FIFA). Would the integrated graphics on this be sufficient? If not, what gfx card would do the job?
    Sarden84's avatar
    Sarden84 Author
Have a check on the videos on the post to see if they match the specific needs i.e FPS.

this will handle Minecraft and Fifa, via 1080 at low/mid.

if u want over 60FPS at 1080 or higher reso, ur going to need a GPU, or running the game at higher settings.
which GPU will then be based on ur needs.

just type 5600G reviews on youtube, get upto date, and see what u need.
check out reviews on AMD 6600 VS 3060 or look a the budget options such as RX580

if ur still not sure, give me an estimated budget and ill tailor design a prebuilt best for u

hard QS for me to answer or anyone,

5600G have been a hit for many parrents to start and then build on after with a GPU, sometimes there not as people have higher expectations as they are used to that new generation of console.

this is 1080 low to mid settings per game on avg.

Don't skimp on a cheap and nasty psu. You will regret it in the future. And remember, if you have to buy a new psu after buying this package, Fitting it and routing the cables will not be a nice job if you aren't an experienced pc builder. I would never suggest buying a £25 psu , it's not a good idea
    Sarden84's avatar
    Sarden84 Author
    Respect your comment,

    "I would never suggest buying a £25 psu , it's not a good idea

Reply for the reason why i did:

    1) Hundreds of sellers sell the base unit at more cost, if i instantly went in with higher boosters, it would no different than a general 5600G in cost on web.

then ill be writing exclusive "£450 VEGA VS £450 elsewhere, but this has better parts.
    it does not work.

if u start low, and challenge the higher cost builders with there rubbush PSU, amazon over price rubbish n co, for what they exactly offer and that challenge them in price, you then send awareness, as its about cash.

The default psu is more then enough for VEGA.
and full information on if u plan to add a GPU later and higher PSU has been stated on site.

plus then it allows the comments to flow in more; like ur first half, which brings in more awareness. (edited)

@sarden84 , which graphics card would you recommend to be added to this to get playable frame rates on MS Flight Sim at 1080p please?

I think this is the wrong question. Because this is entirely the wrong kind of build to be thinking about running MS Flight Sim. You could but you would need a far better dedicated GPU and then you'd need a PSU upgrade as well.

This system is designed for decent compute power with the added benefit it can do some 720P/1080P (with caveats) gaming.

However if I was answering your question I would say a £289 RTX 3060 12GB and a PSU upgrade of 550W making sure it's a decent PSU brand with decent specs.

    TX550 = 3060Ti
    750W = 3070/3070ti/3080*/4070**/*
*not all depending on brand .
**Not going to get full performance, if u obtain a used card, nice price.. workable.

but idea reco GPU would be: AMD6600 / 6650XT ARC 750 as after this the gap opens up compare to the main stream, and beyound even more.

if u can get a used minding card ur a non-builder, the type that just wants to bang in a GPU u go for that 750w u can push it, but understand ur not running a completely balanced, but it could lead to the best FPS per buck; if u play ur card right. (edited)

Amazing deal, I can't understand how some of the aging ex-corporate dell opti-plexes etc hope to compete. My personal tip would be to think about upgrading the motherboard b550 for 35+, and the psu to gigabyte gold 750 for 65+ if you plan on swapping in a GPU or CPU up grade later. If you're not computer savvy swapping over a PSU in a pre build can be a Pita and you can let them do the nice cable routing etc. Nothing to stop you swapping in a 5800x3d and 3080/4070ti at a later point with those suggested upgrades.
    InDaHouse's avatar
    InDaHouse
I felt the same too when ordered this for Christmas

HOWEVER not all b550 boards offered for £35 can truly upgrade to high end CPU like 5800x3d as board capacitors get too hot on these cheaper £35 upgrade mobos. Do your research.

Would this system be a significant uptick from a Ryzen 2600 CPU system?
    fishmaster's avatar
    fishmaster
Aye it's about 30% faster which is about the minimum I'd look at for upgrading. The other question is are you happy with the GPU performance built into the 5600G or do you have a dedicated GPU you want to use? The reason for this is because you will probably want a better PSU if you are putting in a dedicated GPU from your old system and maybe you'd be better served by a faster CPU without the built in graphics.

Bought a similar system with the same case (CIT Flash I think?) from AWD last year and was annoyed to find that the LED fans were connected to a lead from the PSU rather than into the fan header on the motherboard, with no way to reconfigure it. So this means that the fans are always on full rather than being able to have the MB control their speed... very annoying!
Does anyone know if this system would suffer the same problem?
    Sarden84's avatar
    Sarden84 Author
Exact Same (u can turn the lights of via reset).

    - for others, YT the name of the case and someone called mike comes up with a very good review, I cant tag him as im not permitted on this platform for no valid reason.

Thinking of going with this but with the following upgrades to pair with my RX 570...

    CHANGE 480GB SSD to WD 1TB SN350 : +£25.00
    PSU - 500W to CORSAIR 550W 80+ GOLD : +£40.00
    CASE - 1st Player D3-A - mATX - Black : +£25.00

So £390 all in and hopefully that case would allow the fan to hook up to the MB fan header for proper control.

    5600G VS 5600X (3080)

    5600G vs 5600X (3060) = same for 6600 / 6650xt.

Two videos i want you to watch. this will answer most QS.

As long as u have the RIght PSU u can pair any GPU, (B550 for higher systems too)

but understand, if u go too high compared to main stream CPU, u look at the top video.

but IF, u have that option to play 1) GPU used prices, 2) non-builders.

We can then add in the 3rd term: Total value to performance charts.

So add up the parts u need + cost of GPU u seen, Price compare that to mainstream Deals ive shown?

how much of undercut is it? is that under cut worthy or not so?

Ideal the 5600G should be paired with a respect GPU such as AMD 6600 (new price)

but like i say, play the used market with 3060Ti, 3070, 3080 u dont wanna build it will make a wildcard system.

be very optical, think it though, and research as u go folks.

    CEx sell 3070 from £390.00

    300 link +65 PSU +25 nvme +20 case edit +35 b550 = 445
    +390 =

ur looking at an 835 system.

So what system we got at £825 5600X/3060Ti/16GB AMD VELOCITY (TX550 selected)

so we lost the X into G performance, we extra 200psu, its £10er and we exchange brand new 3060Ti into a used 3070

The target aspect appeal to either side: 50/50 winner out the two in total performance 5600G/3070

if we are able to exchange CEX 3070 at £390 and exchange that to the 3080 at £550

Thats £160 more, so add that to the £835 = £985

so thats the price of the hellfire.

    12400F/16GB/650w via 3070 new at £1000.00
    5600G / 16GB 750 via 3080 used at just under 1000.00

winner: 5600G/3080 even if ur not getting the full performance which idea be better for a higher reso. (edited)

Type the models on Google and have a check on the Asus site for board spec features (I'll link when I'm back on pc)

Palicomp price is £300 after code.
    SN350 1TB is £325

Storms basic is £339.99 for their 1TB

so a little saving, count the PSU as equal.

Palicomp entry is a vega only, Storms entry is vega only.

just because it has 150W extra does not mean anything in this spectrum to be honest, that FSP is a nice 350W
ur keeping it to vega which is my advice, my advice on this 500w keep it to vega.

if u wanted to add a GPU, then storm had higher options too as well palicomp this time around as well.

so we got a good battle on.

awd is in the mix if u wanted a monitor set up, which is another one i did.

great for you guys, storm would not of bought their if it wasnt for pali, pali wouldnt of rechallenge storms.
awd in the mix to spice it up with a new light on monitor full package (which is usual un heard of for a set up) palicomp tries it on to with a monitor set up too.

ccl is trying it on to with game25 codes, but they need to bring it abit more though.

Storms mission now would be to drop that 1Tb to 480GB SSD at a lower cost to rechallenge as not every needs 1tb to
awd needs to bring with bit more with a non monitor package.
ccl need to wake up and think 4600G was so last year, and needs to knock that one down abit so the boost to 5600g rides nicer. (edited)

I've got a GTX 1660 (non super) would that be a good match for the CPU/ram?
Does anyone know if any of the boards are mATX?

Will the "+25 CIT FX BRONZE 700W PSU" be good for a 3070?

My youngest wants to buy this and is spec'ing it up adding the b550k and sn350 and the psu mentioned to then stick in a 2nd hand 3070. (edited)

I've been looking at getting a new PC but I get lost in these posts! It's like "Wow, a cheap PC has gone hot" then when I look at the comments, people are saying add this, add that and don't do this, don't do that
I just need something for everyday use, Adobe creative suite (Photoshop and premiere mainly), DJing/audio editing and the kids jumping on occasionally playing games like Fortnite and running their Meta VR from!
Any idea if this is gonna be any good for the above or if it's just better to go for a different build altogether???

@sarden84 i’m looking for a PC to use as a mini server, to run 4 or 5 VM’s at the same time, how would this perform?

I’m contemplating boosting the cpu to 5700g, increasing the ram to 32gb and the SSD to the Samsung 980, any thoughts on this setup?

    Thanks

    100% The ram
    # 8c over 6c...... Yes, but either way. but it's a considerable gap.

Despite it being more cores, its not like typical 6c to 8c like main streamers, vega does increase though, again marginal.
    ,
    The value-to-performance increase from a 5600G to a 5700G isn't worth it 9/10 times.
that £80 gap is abit of a swallow imo. but it will make it faster n smooth.

4/5 Vms, ur defo heading for that 1/10 person

    i have price-checked it, stil the cheapest 5700G / 32GB / 500GB Samsung.

PS: i do suggest a PSU upgrade.

but i do have other links if u want them?
