Every time I see laptops with 150W+ components in them I cringe. They just break after a few years. Don’t know whether it’s purely a thermal issue or power
/ other supporting circuitry/components not being as good. I’m sure lots of people who have them will rush to disagree with me, though

Try 8 months. Sad thing is, I got mine repaired, got a huge import duty fee thrown at me and then the laptop was lost. I am currently £2800 out of pocket. Never deal with XMG/Schenker tech!

    As another option,
    Legion Pro 5i 16, i7-13700HX, 16GB, 1TB, 4070, No OS comes to £1552.94

What's the link and discount code?

Seems "Education Store" prices are even lower(!). With code L3GION15,
Legion Pro 5i 16 (spec as OP but 4070) is £1828
Legion Pro 7i 16 (spec as OP but 4070) is £1836.

Drop to an i7, and the Legion 5 becomes £1690. Could POSSIBILY save even more by buying base RAM and SSD and upgrading yourself.

Definitely some good savings to be had (edited)

Drop the GPU to a 4070, otherwise identical components, and the...
    Legion Pro 5i 16 is £2031
    Legion Pro 7i 16 is £2040.

Those prices are "UK Rewards Store" (BLC etc.) and code LEGION15. (edited)

The only problem with the 4070 is only 8gb vram. Some of the latest games are choking with 8gb of vram which is a shame as that is a good saving.

As it's an i9 at least it'll save on cost for gas to heat your home

Coda probably just edges it but the Lenovo isn't a bad machine either

This is actually an offer, considering how bad 4070 is compare to 4080.

Yeah the 4080 is a different level

Strange the 4080 has 12GB of VRAM but the old 3080 that Lenovo used on the Legion 7 had 16GB - seems a backward step...

Would say if you can pick up a decent 12900hx 3080 TI for a good price might be worth it tbh compared to this. These are insanely good laptops but it's a weird generation, I think this generation is worth skipping imho.

I wish the screen was bigger. I can't see the point of a great spec laptop with a below 17.3 inch screen

Using unidays link, the 4070 Pro 7i is showing as 1629 without OS.

But that's with 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD; if match OP's spec then price is £1836 (as I posted).

Screens on these are so nice. Same screen used on Acer Tritons and pretty much every other Legion 16" laptop of the last 2-3 years, even the £1,200 Legions. Actual 500 nits.

Good price, RTX 4080 is a good jump from a RTX 4070 (edited)

The legion laptops are really nice. I just got a 5i pro gen 8.

This is a great deal for a very powerful laptop. 32 threads!

What I like is the Lenovo Legion Vantage s/w, makes it easy to keep the laptop up to date etc

Why won't it let me log in? I've got an account and I can go on their website manually, but I can't find the item from website for this price either.

    Can anyone help?

All councils offer free education from ages 5-18. Failing that, most higher education facilities allow anyone to enroll in at least one course, often at modest cost for some of the new remote content. Stay aware from the full time, 3 year Undergrad degrees, you simply won't see the savings to justify going that route just for this laptop.

Get onto a part time course, think about what it'll unlock in future aside from a small saving on computers hardware. Back yourself, you can do it. Soon enough you'll have that GNVQ in Leisure and Tourism AND a swanky new laptop (edited)

This is the Gpu that should be in Gaming laptops at the £1500 area.

Had mine for a month now, amazing laptop, runs everything very well. Surprisingly quiet unless running in performance mode.
