For most people the m2 air is a much better laptop

in what regards better? Perhaps only for the dimensions/weight, but this has:
    - more ram
    - bigger ssd
    - better screen: larger, higher refresh rate, brighter
    - better speakers
    - more ports

so emm... how exactly is m2 air better? (edited)

I bought this on the last deal and it is actually too bulky and unnecessarily heavy
    Returned next day
This 16” is NOT a laptop, it is a desktop replacement computer that you can use at home
I would also suggest the air way if you actually want a laptop

Thanks, your comment and someone else's cemented that I should avoid this. I like the lightness and portability of my 13" M1 Air, as well as the quietness, so I'll go 15" M2 next.

Good price, shame they don't sell the 14 inch M1 pro.

But they sell 14 inch M2 pro, don't tell us its too powerful for you

This seems like a great deal? £1000 cheaper than the 16-inch M2 pro via Apple, and £100 cheaper than the new 15inch Air with equivalent Ram and SSD, but the the faster M1 Pro? This should be hotter! OP might be worth pointing out it’s actually faster than an M2, and only a little slower than an M2 Pro in your description. (edited)

Apple products always seems to attract heated tribalism, so I’d prefer people just make their own decisions. Buy whatever suits you and fits your use case. I bought one last week for £100 more and absolutely love the machine. I couldn’t go back to the regular screen after using this one.

I got this last month for £100 more. Pulled the trigger before the 15” Air announcement. Considering the cost to upgrade the Air to the same Ram & storage brings its cost close to what I paid I have no regrets, considering the improved performance, screen, audio, battery and ports. BTW it's replacing my old 2013 15” MBP.

I picked up the M1 Pro 16 inch 1tb and 32gb of ram a few months ago off eBay, very happy with it but I only use it at home, its a big lump to carry around

Mine arrived today. Very similar weight to the 2012 15 inch MBP. Can't say I mind the weight. The screen is stunning.

What is the Apple.com price on this?
    Korben_Dallas's avatar
    They're only selling refurbs I think: apple.com/uk/…ray

Believe this is online only. Popped into store and they told me they don’t have it and neither will any other store. Just in case anyone was considering a trip!

Would this be good for photoshop and 3d rendering

Trying to decide between this and the new 14” m2pro at £2000. With vouchers through perks at work it comes out at 1900.
    b0nsta's avatar
What spec is the m2pro compared to this?
  16. Lucia_B's avatar
Sorry for the noob question but can I buy this using the £15 online only membership?
    b0nsta's avatar
    yes

Can you open and turn on a Costco item like this or is it once opened that's it type deal? I know Apple you can open it and return it no issue just wondering what Costco is like with this.
    Kristang's avatar
Yes you can open and change ur mind and return, just keep all the original box and wipe your data if you decide to return etc. Costco had no issue with this in the past
