Just a fair warning, don't play this while you're with your child. My 6yo saw me play this and now I can no longer proceed without them since they're so invested in the story. It's the music that drew them in to begin with.

Also, they cried at a certain point of a side story because of a tragedy that I did not see coming. I'd imagine there would be more tears along the way.

The game is a roller of emotions. There were definitely moments I was not prepared for. Such an awesome game.

Loved this game. Quite short and easy, but can't complain at this price.

Not usually my type of games but I’m playing tales of arise atm and 30 hours in, would I still like this ? And would I need to play the previous games in the series ?

No, you don't need to play any previous games in this series - it's a completely stand alone experience. Although, Dragon Quest has turn based combat whilst Tales of Arise has real time combat, so that's a major difference.

If you don't mind turn-based RPGs, then I'd definitely recommend it if you're getting into these sorts of games, but I know turn-based stuff can be a turn off for some people.
