    Looking at some performance benchmarks (especially around video compression/encoding), I've deduced:
    M1 = i7 12th gen
    M2 = i7 13th gen
    However twice as efficient due to 5nm instead of 10nm silicone.

    I wouldn't mind having the performance of the Apple M chips but couldn't live with MacOS.

    Is country of origin: China a concern? Warranty not covered in UK and UK apple store wouldn't touch it with a bargebpole?

    Decent. I bought a used one off eBay last year for £1600 with a 70 battery cycle count and thought I had a steal.

    When they hit £800 in a couple years, they'll be amazing laptops for people that want to do everything but game. By far the best laptop I've ever used..... Just not worth the price in my eyes because of the lack of gaming.

    Not everyone wants to game on a laptop. For professionals this is definitely worth the price.

    Got the 14” version of this from JL for £1200 and it is great. This seems like a good price

    Recently? Have they reduced remaining in-store ones below £1599 now?

    I’ve got the 1TB/32GB model (overkill but I’m looking to keep it a good few years for a change). I’d say this is well worth it.

    I have no idea why anybody would prefer windows over macOS!
