It's a good price for the Trek but it is only Claris and the fork is carbon fibre blades bonded to an aluminium steerer. I think a Carrera at Halfords would have the same components, be slightly lighter and have a full carbon fibre fork and would be about 2/3rds of the price of this. It's a big premium to get the Trek logo on the bike effectively something like £300 considering the fork downgrade. Also with Halfords you can normally use cashback sites and buy discounted halfords gift cards etc and find discount codes to take a fair chunk of money off. There is a review of the Carrera here just a few days ago. I realise many wouldn't consider a Carrera but those looking more for value rather than brand it is a possible option to save money. Ultimately neither Carrera or Trek make anything they just buy their bikes from Asian factories.

Awesome bike for the money. Trek have decent frames. Domane is a really comfortable ride as well. More upright than their other bikes. This will make a great first road bike or an ideal all rounder for commuting.

claris and sora parts kind of put me off but disk brakes for this price is pretty impressive

Great bike, I got one last year and swapped up the groupset to 105, giving you a top spec model in the nicest colour. Frame is same across the Domane AL range.

I'm thinking of going the same route seeing as you can get a 105 groupset for circa 350.

That's a good price for a decent road bike with an endurance/comfort oriented frame. Ideal for someone wanting to get into road-biking or commuting (there's room for mudguards and sensibly wide tyres).

A store near me has this for about £32 more. Is it worth them setting it up and 21 mile drive to pick up and deal with more local supplier. Or better to save 32 quid and make adjustments myself and get rid of packaging etc?

Call the local shop and ask them if they can price match it. (edited)
