Is Tiagra better than Dura ace?

No. From worst to best - Road groupsets

    Claris: 8-speed
    Sora: 9-speed
    Tiagra: 10-speed
    105: 11-speed
    105 Di2: 12-speed electronic only
    Ultegra: 12-speed
    Ultegra Di2: 12-speed electronic only
    Dura-Ace: 12-speed
    Dura-Ace Di2: 12-speed electronic only

My understanding is that people prefer Ultegra to Dura-Ace because it's rumoured to be more durable, even at the cost of being a few grams heavier.

I ride Sora and am content with my bike, for my next bike I would like Tiagra.

I think Claris looks more like MTB gears so would probably not consider it. (edited)

Just another near bottom-of-the-line roadbike. At this price point, I'd buy secondhand. Got a full carbon Focus with Ultegra for less than this. (edited)

Fully agree. Buy used, and if it's necessary pay for a wheel bearing service, new chain, new brake blocks, and gear indexing if required.

I do all the servicing myself so it's just a parts cost.

Cycle2work available as well, makes this stupidly cheap

Now this is a decent price for a pretty good bike.

That's a pretty good bike for the money.

On cycle2work this is a bargain, if you company offers it. between 35 to 40% off this price and then the payments are divided by 12.

Used Tredz a couple of times with no probs. Unidays or student beans offer 10% off also.

FSA Crankset. Promax brakes. KMC Chain.

25c tyres which probably means no clearance for modern wider tyres, especially if fitted with guards (Tredz say it's ideal for commuting).

For me the rrp was never realistic.

At least the bottom of the line hubs are "fast rolling".

Had a total nightmare with Tredz and DHL. Just trying to get a couple of MIPS helmets delivered. Seems DHL are beyond useless. Puts me off using Tredz in future unfortunately

I've never had an issue, but I do find Wiggle/CRC get things delivered MUCH faster
