Parking at train stations near Liverpool

I'm going to be staying in newcastle shortly for a few days but want to drive to Liverpool. Can someone please tell what's the closest train station to Liverpool with free parking. Thank you in advance

If you're planning to be there this week, it's Eurovision week so expect things to be a lot more busy

If you are going the M6 route take the m58 from the m6 and head to aintree station. Free parking and about 15 minutes into town from there. Have fun

You'll struggle to find free parking anywhere central, but there's cheap parking (£5 for 24 hours) available at the main shopping centre (multistorey, right next to Lime Street station) if you pre-register online: stjohns-shopping.co.uk/par…ng/

That said, I'd generally recommend driving into the centre if you can help it, the roads are far from the easiest.

Thank you for replying but other half won't drive into any city centre so we were hoping for a train station with free parking preferably not to far from Liverpool. I've seen a few online which I presume are small train stations near Liverpool but I don't know which would be the best coming from Newcastle. I don't mind paying a small fee

I'd park out of town, Litherland etc and shuttle into town.

I live in Liverpool and can tell you there's tons of places to park within 2 minutes walk from a train station into the city centre and most places will be free.
For instance Broad green or Roby just off the M57 is only 6 minutes from the city centre and there's plenty of free parking nearby or maybe just park around Sefton St and walk the short journey into the city centre or pay a Hackney cab the £5 fare.
Liverpool is such a fantastic city and you'll love it and it's friendly people similar to our Geordie friends in Newcastle (edited)

I've been to Newcastle numerous times and I agree with you regarding the geordies. I look forward coming to city and from what I've seen on YouTube looks lovely.
