Not got space for this in fridge - would it keep okay if kept in cupboard? Guess I could always neck it if not.

When it's opened it should be put in the fridge and consumed within 1 year

Beware - this stuff is garbage fake Maple Syrup. I bought tons of it last time there was a deal on here from Amazon and froze loads of it. It all froze solid and turned white showing that it was watered down or mixed with something and definitely NOT pure Maple Syrup. Real Maple Syrup will not freeze solid in your freezer but will remain like a honey consistency.

Not sure that's accurate tbh. When I lived in Canada the maple syrup factory used to do this trick in winter of spreading maple syrup over the snow outside (yeah, I know - outside) and breaking it into pieces and serving it like toffee to the visitors. It does freeze.

How much is this Costco in-store?

Do they do a Grade B for cheaper?

Grade A is lighter and sweeter, while Grade B is darker and has a deeper maple flavour. If you just want it as a sweetener, grade A is what you want. I personally like the richer flavour of Grade B.

They recently changed it so that everything is now Grade A, but with 'flavour profiles' added. So Grade B is now called Grade A -- 'Dark Colour and Robust Taste'. (edited)

    Great item and good value.
Just be ready to consume a litre of the stuff because last time we got this after a couple months when we opened up the lid to I think decant it into a bigger bottle there was growth all inside the walls that we had no clue about.

I may be remembering this wrong, but as a child the maple syrup we had was kept in a cupboard after opening and lasted the year. It was only pulled out for pancake day and Christmas Day more or less and used without issue. We made a point of having pure grade b or something like that.

But in recent years now I’ve found the syrup goes mouldy if left in the cupboard after opening. It’s happened 3 times now.

Did something change or am I just not remembering this correctly? Maybe it’s just global changes?

Heat for the deal. Hesitant to buy as I can’t fit it int the fridge.

I leave mine in a cupboard (pure maple syrup from different brands: Aldi, Lidl, etc) usually for several weeks if not months and never had a problem with mould.

    becka343's avatar

One of the best buys I think I have ever bought from amazon is a giant box of kirkland trash bags, its been years and I am barely halfway and the quality of the bag is incredible

    Costco brands at Amazon?
  17. kamtheman's avatar
This is my maple....sorry staple maple syrup. Great quality. Fits in my fridge door shelf.

Coupled with Costco's instant pancake mix, you can be flipping in seconds.

    Yep, highly recommended!

Thank you! I've been waiting for this to drop in price. I used to buy it for less than £10 but couldn't justify it at £15
