What's best for tracking a pet? I bought a samsung smart tag but as I live in the country it was useless as it only tracked, outside my WiFi range, if it linked to another samsung which was rare as I'm so remote. Does Airtag need to connect to another apple device in order to track effectively?

    Yes

Watch the episode of gadget show when they do a test comparison with these and AirTags. their findings were night and day.
I was in Cyprus last week and could still track the AirTag in my car at Luton airport.

But that's no good for android users

Generally seem to be poor or patchy reviews e. g. Trustpilot. Airtags miles better (literally) but you need an iPhone.

I'm not buying any more Tiles until Google has sorted out how it wants to enter the bluetooth tracker market. So far it seems AirTag integration might be on the cards in which case you'll regret buying these in a couple months.

One thing to note is that these don't have UWB support like the Samsung and Apple versions but obviously you'd need to have a compatible phone.

    Feel exactly the same.

Trackers are far too fragmented on Android. It's annoying. Google need to sort it out. Had Tiles for a few years and honestly they're not bad but want something more accurate, reliable and with a wider network.

Bought and tested this, never managed to locate anything. The other a bit more famous and way pricier almost always locate stuff

These are not as big as they look, in a good way.

AirTag is pretty straightforward, and takes literally seconds to work, Tile...it just didn't want to work (tried with an android phone).

Love my airtags. Great for dog collars, keys and luggage. I also have a couple of tiles from a long time ago. I definitely wouldnt by tiles, I would get more airtags if I needed something.

I've had both tile and airtags, the airtags will always win because of density of the Apples find my network. I'm always able to get fairly accurate and recent pings from the airtags vs the tile.

I'd happily buy Airtags as there is no better offering on Android (unless you have a samsung) but Apple don't want anyone to play with their toys.

My Tiles work well finding things around the house - the number of times my wife has left keys in the shed door, garage door, down the back of the shoe rack, in the pram or just in her pocket!
