    You don't get the taste from coal, it comes from the smoke which is produced when fats etc drip onto a hot surface and vaporises. Coal produces marginally more smoke than gas so it's irrelevant. It's not the coal you're tasting when you eat it, it's the smoke that's absorbed back into the food that created it.
    Side note - good coal should produce next to no smoke. (edited)

    This is almost tempting me away from a lifetime of charcoal BBQs. Just not sure how much of a pest it would be to clean after cooking on it knowing how much fat dribbles down onto the coals in a normal BBQ

    I don't have this model but I do have a different brand 4 burner gas one. There's a tray that the fat drips on and runs into a little 'bowl' which you empty easily. The tray is removable and I'm guessing it should be on this one too. Just brush the grill whilst hot after cooking just like a charcoal one, and when cooled down take out the tray and clean it. Tray can be cleaned after a few cooks not every cook. Just keep an eye on how much grease is on it to avoid grease fires.

    Excuse my ignorance but is this all waterproof or I need to get a cover for it all, what about the gas canisters, are they waterproof? How much are gas canisters and how long do they last? First timer here.

    From memory about £60 a canister, I probably go through one and a half per season maybe.

     You’d want a cover for it, the gas canisters are waterproof really (not much to go wrong there) but the regulator (bit that connects the hose from BBQ to gas canister) might be a bit more susceptible to being left out in all weather, so worth just covering the lot (should find the canister will fit in or under the side of the BBQ on most)

    Cancellation just received. Annoying that some got it - implies that is was stock / oversold. What kind of website doesn't track stock levels? It's 2023 ffs....

    Think it’s there own brand . My b&q bbq is 10 years old this year . Still going . Bits of paint come off and some rust here and there but still going . Make sure u get a cover

    Not had a Gas BBQ in years, but I've got a Calor Butane cylinder here, so i'm guessing all I need is a regulator and good to go.

    Got cancelled too. Kinda mad as I used the £20 off using their interest free buy now pay later... Cheeky sods still set it all up even though the order was cancelled. Not sure if it will affect my credit rating. I hope not.

    I'd be more concerned about the company they use for setting up the credit.
    I backed out when I saw they wanted access to my bank transactions for 12 months, and then done a search and seen the reviews:

    All seems a bit dodgy to me, imagine that Studio get a kick back from the number of customers that sign up for these credit agreements, as they can look into your buying habits and profile you.

    1. Got to make sure you have a gas canister which you can get from B&Q - So you will have ongoing costs
    2. Nightmare to clean, had similar to this some years back and it took a good hour if not more to clean everything
    3. Cooking wise, not bad with gas as the meat etc is cooked decently
    4. Can take a bit more time than coal ones in terms of cooking
