    Love mine
Was a great device let down by phone software for 12 months, but since it now links to Huawei health (and strava) this is fixed.
Only downside is need to download from Huawei as it is not on the google play store.
    Best features:
Great battery, screen, bluetooth calls on watch.
Stores a couple of GB of music and solid connection for bluetooth headphones (unlike amazfit GTR2 which was a flop).
Good GPS, heartrate, cadence sports tracking (but less accurate than garmin when comparing parkrun trace).
    Good sleep tracking.
Great watchfaces (I have GX04 digital, free from the app).

    Negatives:
    Music transfer is very slow.
    No apps
Not the most accurate GPS (but still very good).50414088-8NzHf.jpg

How do you see the GPS plotted on a map? I cant get into a map view petal wont let me log in due to no hms core and a GPS watch that you can not see on a map seems pointless atm! lol

    Watchface in Huawei health app:
Devices > Watch Faces (then select "free" options)

To upload music from android phone in Huawei health app:
Go to Devices > Music > Manage Music > Add songs

Its slow, but I transfer large 2 hours music mixes to listen while running.
Previous amazfit devices would show up as USB device and could drag and drop - this is not as good for transfer over bluetooth, but now I have uploaded 10 hours of music I'm sorted, just needs changing every 3-6 months.
I actually have running shorts with large elastic pockets for phones / keys (decathlon "marathon" or "trail" shorts), which makes it easy to carry more if running for more than 40 minutes.

Been playing with this all morning, lovely thing, even came with a quality spare strap (the one from the black model on the Honor website). A steal at this price - thanks

Prefer the black strap - really nice quality with quick release pins Hopefully comes back into stock soon but note that the 42mm version is still available for the same price (you just can't take phone calls on it).

Is this any different from the Huawei gt2? I have one which I love. But considering getting this for my dad

Decent watch... battery life is superb. Lasts near 2 weeks if you just look at the time every now and then. If using it for sports tracking lasts about a week so still pretty good. Has a few gig onboard storage for music tho I've never tried that out. The BT call/answer is handy if you're charging your phone upstairs and your down. It's no Apple watch or Samsung watch but pretty decent especially at this price

Just got mine this evening. The watch is nice. The only issue I can’t use some function like adding music and changing custom watch faces. I guess that’s why they dropped the price as these watches are no longer supported.

I've put the black strap on too - it suits it better - the leather one looks good on my Orient Mako II.

You add music & download free watch faces with the Huawei Health app, it's very simple

Will it have BT calling feature?

    Connect to Android phones? (edited)
    maverik's avatar
Yes, it has built in microphone and speaker so you can call using your watch.
It does connect to Android phones.

Worth an upgrade over the og huawei GT?

Does this out your data straight into strava or do you need to use intermediate apps?

I had a gT2 and this was a real pain
    andyp2016's avatar
They fixed this with the gt2 it now syncs with Strava. Not sure about this one though

I bought this when it was on offer a couple of months ago for my mum so she can make/pick up calls quickly on the watch and use for steps/sleep. It is a bit big. But some problems.
Honor Health app will not pick up the watch (reading online it seems to a common issue). Tried loads of supposed fixes. The Honor website is poor on this. The manual just says use Honor Health app and take it from there, no instructions ! Using a fairly new Redmi 10 Android phone with Android 14 but no joy at all. Finally I downloaded the Huawei Health app (which is older) and picks up the watch fine. But as I understand this app will be discontinued and your data cannot be transferred to the Honor health app (whenever that works!). Battery usage around 15-20%/day with 1/2 workouts recorded. Earbuds can connect to the watch but still uses the phones' speaker for sound which is disappointing as that's one of the main reasons I bought it..
The app won't let me add any music to the watch. Just blank screen when you click add. Seems like a bug, no way around it.
If anyone knows of the fixes for this then please let me know, much appreciated ! (edited)

Having a phone with Android 14 is the problem mate - Android 14 isn't out yet

    Great price although it's a 3 year+ old watch so I don't think it's worth a lot more...
Just wondering what people think if this is worth getting or better to pay a bit more for a newer smart watch.
I would be a bit dubious buying a phone over 3 years old. On basis operating system and features would be bit dated.
Is that the same thinking with smart watches?
    Ega_Hacass's avatar
I am rocking 4 years old phone and planning to keep it for another few years. I might install custom rom if needed. Have not found single app I need that wouldn't not work. Why spend on new crap if you will not use it?
  24. simplelearning's avatar
Better than the Amazfit BIP Pro 3?
  25. mechanoid's avatar
    Saying sold out now...dang!
    keefly's avatar
I just bought one. Try again, Honor's stock reporting is pretty flawed, things often appear sold out for a few minutes then just become available again!
  26. SashaUAUK's avatar
    Back in stock

Is this better than a Samsung Galaxy Watch 3?

Thinking of upgrading, as the battery doesnt even last a day anh more. But dont want to spend £100+
  28. D3P0's avatar
Hopefully gets back in stock, is it very big or reasonable size?

"HONOR MagicWatch 2 46mm Flax Brown"

    It's a puzzler, isn't it?
  29. Chuckles1001's avatar
Anyone actually use these? having a nightmare, email address was case sensitive and it would not send me a change password email blar blar etc etc..... so i cant log into petal maps as i don't have HMS core as i do not have a Huawei phone, how do i see where i have travelled on the map? and the "find my device" the internet talks about does not seem to exist, i am trying to find how to find my watch via a map screen is that possible or is the internet lying? Think i am going to send this back unless i can see map data, and a lot of online seems out of date or non-existent but looks nice!! (edited)
    keefly's avatar
I don't really understand any of your post. Email addresses are not, never have been & never will be case-sensitive. What email address anyway?

You don't need a Huawei Phone or Huawei Mobile Services or HMS Core and you don't need to download or log in to Petal Maps. Presuming you have an Android phone, there's some information & a link to Honor's simple installation instructions (also for IOS) here:

    gsmarena.com/you…php

After installing Huawei Health you can remove AppGallery & just use the app itself to check for updates. As for Find Phone - just swipe down from the top of the watch's screen or just drill through the menu - it works perfectly.

    contact less payment?
    keefly's avatar
Only when you're in China (seriously!)
  32. ukwomble's avatar
Probably being thick here but could someone let me know how to add contact's to watch from Huawei health app, can only see an option to add favourites which is limited to 10. Cheers
Think I've found answer, only allowed 10 contact's on phone but guess others will show up as and when phone rings (edited)
    Chuckles1001's avatar
I have not tried it yet, but one thing i noticed is you cant answer the phone via the watch with a BT headset in only if you use the built in speaker and mic, so if your using headphones you need to answer from your phone.

I've gotta say, this Huawei Health app is absolutely eating my Pixel 6a phone battery; in fact it's using up more charge than everything else put together (including the Android OS itself). Not good

    Any tips?
    keefly's avatar
This is madness, my Pixel 6a has gone from over two days per charge to less than one. I'm gonna have to work out how much I can use this watch without being connected to my phone:
