For what I know these are quite hard to turn. I would recommend to get a '4x4 speed cube'. speedcube.org has a few (and the chap that runs it is extremely helpful!). The 4x4x4 there start at £7+delivery.

And since you are getting a 4x4x4, why not get a new 3x3x3 too? (edited)

I got 2 x2 3x3 and 4x4 all together from well known Chinese site for less than that. If you don't mind waiting 2 weeks of course.

Thanks OP good deal. I'll get this. I can do the original Rubik's Cube in a few minutes - Rubik's Cube in my eyes is the greatest puzzle ever created. During Covid the cube was a life saver. I grew up in the 80's unable to so it but taught myself when I had some time. This cube looks a totally different level - and I like a challenge.

Yeah, similar to my experiecnce. I managed to do it 3 times in the 80s following some handwritten guides from classmates - it seemed more by luck than anything else, as I used to get stuck many times very near to solving it! Some of them used to do it in 2-3 mins without fail. (edited)

Yea, Its one of the rare items where the original is not the best. Like someone above stated, they are stiff and dont flow well, speed cubes are the way to go, much more robust and flexible and can flow well and quickly

Spooky my son just got a 2x2 and I am quite proud of the fact that I have been able to solve it 3 times in a row after he mixed it up!
I still have my original 3x3 from the 80s!

Surprising how much more tricky the 2x2 is than it sounds, so well done.

I manage to learn the pyraminx (pyramid shaped one) and the 2x2... but still haven't mastered the 3x3, although my 10 yr old has done 3x3 and 4x4

Peel stickers off and put them back in the correct order
  12. Rambojazdude's avatar
I'd struggle with a 1x1 cube. 4x4 would give me nightmares

Can you peel the tickets off and put them back in the right order? Lol.

Better to break it and reassemble though - less evidence!

I had one of those in the 80s. It was called " Rubik's revenge". I never managed to do it
