Cheapest I’ve seen the Garmin Forerunner 245 GPS. On Amazon Germany it has the price as €159.00(36% off RRP price) It also states that you save an additional €25.39 at checkout. I made my way to the checkout page and after the promotion is applied it takes the price down to 137,80. Used my commission free Chase card to purchase the watch in Euros and it translated to £119.24. Cheaper than the current lowest price for the same watch on Amazon.co.uk (£147 which also seems to be coming from Germany) and cheaper than Camelx3 history for the watch (£125)

You do the running. Forerunner 245 does the thinking. This GPS running smartwatch evaluates performance stats such as VO2 max, aerobic and anaerobic training effect, and training status, which indicates if you’re undertraining or overdoing it. You can also track advanced running dynamics such as ground contact time balance and stride length. Take the guesswork out of training for your next 5K,10K or Half-Marathon when you team this watch with the Garmin Coach App. Select free training plans that adapt to your goals, or take training into your own hands by creating custom workouts at Garmin Connect, our free online fitness community.

Features:

EASY-TO-USE: Features a bright, always-on colour screen and a reliable 5-button interface that lets you mark laps with just a quick press
GARMIN COACH: Get custom training plans that adapt to help you meet your 5K, 10k or half marathon goal
SAFETY AND TRACKING: Easily share your location with chosen contacts in case you need assistance — manually, or automatically with built-in incident detection, if needed

Is there a way at to shop from Amazon Germany /France by switching to English ? I bought some air pods France and regretted it, navigating the page in French was a nightmare.

I looked for this particular watch on Amazon Spain, France and Germany. With France and Spain the website was in the language for the country however for Germany website it automatically took me to the English language version of it so navigation was straightforward!

How do you get around import fees?

Oh this will get hot! I have this model for several months now and I love it. I love the old school screen and prefer it to the newer version.

Good to hear you love it! How do you find the battery life? I was close to getting the Forerunner 55 but 245 has just got so many features

Had one for a couple of years now. First one got a sticky button (apparently they need rinsing after going in swimming pools with chlorine)

Got a replacement and it's still going strong. Bit rubbish for weight training but for running etc it's brilliant.

Charge battery maybe weekly? And charges to 100% really quickly too. I track two 5-10k runs and two weight sessions per week.

Got no reason to upgrade really

I can't see the extra discount? It seems to come up as €167 for me

Looking upgrade my Vivoactive 3. I’ve had it for years and it’s been a great watch, but battery life is now pretty poor. Does this have a golf app? And is it worth the upgrade? (edited)

My vivoactive 3 went the same way, phoned Garmin they exchanged for a recertified one, worth a try. Free BTW, they said that it was still under warranty over 3 years later, obviously I didn't question this! (edited)

Showing as 167 euros for the black one rather than 137 - am I doing something wrong?

How does this compare with the Vivoactive 4/4S?

Ive been looking at the various models all week, and unsure what to go for.

I mainly want it for GPS tracking when hiking, football and general daily walking tracking

I had the music version of this, and it's great for monitoring your daily stats. I loved using it when cycling, and the music capability was great as I didn't have to bring my phone with me. The GPS was accurate enough for my needs, and uploading to Connect/Strada/Komoot, was seamless. I didn't like using it for weights, as it wasn't accurate, and it was a hassle to keep tweaking the amount of reps.
Battery life is roughly a week (less if you constantly use the GPS and Music functionality).
I gave mine to my sister, as I 've upgraded to the Venu 2 - only because I was finding it gradually more difficult to see the screen on 245.
    I highly recommend the 245.
