    I also use them, they're good!
    But you can buy them every two weeks by subscription. Either Amazon doesn't have confidence in the quality, or they don't know what rechargeable means.

    Does their lifespan reduce just sitting in a drawer still wrapped because of the hukd curse? I know battery life will reduce but I mean capacity. (edited)

    I disagree. They seem fine for my Xbox controllers. Keep the charge and do what they need to do.
