Cheers Op, great deal

Goes beyond a book
Now you can adjust the shade of your Kindle Paperwhite display from a white light to a warm amber, or schedule when the light changes for a personalised reading experience. You can also adjust the size and boldface of text for whatever suits you best.

Lose yourself in a book—wherever, whenever
Kindle Paperwhite is thin, lightweight and travels easily so you can enjoy your favourite books at any time. With our signature 300 ppi glare-free Paperwhite display—now 10% brighter at its maximum setting compared to the previous generation—you can read in any light. A single battery charge via USB-C lasts up to 10 weeks. Battery life may vary depending on use.

Make a splash
With the waterproof Kindle Paperwhite, you’re free to read and relax in more places—from the beach to the bath. Kindle Paperwhite is IPX8 rated (tested in laboratory conditions) to protect against accidental immersion in up to two metres of fresh water for up to 60 minutes, and up to 0.25 metres of seawater for up to 3 minutes. Better off getting the kids one as you get a free case and 2 year warranty. Also most probably don’t need the 16GB storage. If you have an old one trade it in for another 20% off too as well as getting a voucher. Bargain. (edited)

Yup just did that on weekend for £2 more than the adult version after trade in. Great advice!

Ok so my kindle shows as £20 max gift voucher trade in value if I complete the trade in. However the trade in details show that the trade in kindle is assessed within 3 days of you sending it to Amazon and then a 20% discount on a new kindle purchased code is issued plus a gift voucher of up to £20 for the trade in. So it appears you loose use of your current kindle to obtain the 20% discount on a new purchase. As the kindles are on prime day deals currently these deals will probably have finished by the time you get your code for 20% off. So really the 20% discount is a bit misleading as you can’t get it on an immediate purchase. Unless I am missing something ?

You can get it with the discounts, I did this earlier - you get the £20 voucher instantly and the 20% discount is applied at checkout, so you can get it before sending the old Kindle back (I have until 31st July). They took a card imprint without charge, so presumably they’ll take £15 back if the kindle doesn’t meet standards.

are the ads really annoying? is it worth £10 to remove ads?

is there a password needed when this is delivered? (edited)

The ads aren't intrusive on the Amazon Paperwhite and I'm never bothered by them.

Good deal but the 20% off makes it a cracking deal. I traded in my old broken kindle, only got a fiver for it but that meant I qualified so got a blue Paperwhite 6.8 for £65. Someone here at work has an old kindle and part-ex was £20 so they only paid £50, cracking bargain. Perhaps add a note about the trade-in in the subject.
