Bought this model earlier in the year. I was surprised at how good it is! My lawn looks great and has saved me so much time and effort

If it's a sloping border, say into a flower bed it does this fine. It's a step or a wall you will have to go over this with a strimmer

What happens to all of the grass? I would hope for the price it empties itself, too?
    coldfire3000's avatar
It cuts every couple of days, so you get tiny clippings which go back into the grass.

I’ve got 3 separate small areas of lawn. Would I be able to fence off the areas individually and then lift the mower into position?

These work on the basis that the boundary wire is powered by the charging station.
It can work in different areas/sections, but you still need the boundary wire to be connected in a loop. This link explains it better.

Do you end up with loads of thatch in your lawn if it's not picking up the clippings? (edited)

Anyone monitoring how much electricity this uses in a week please?

I would like one of these as we have a big garden but it's a complex one with lots of borders and on quite a slope, oh and no way of getting from the front garden to the back so double the cost

    It's pretty low.
The manual states 4 kWh/month in a 500 m2 work area which equates to approx. £1.20/month (Based on a typical 30p tariff)

My rear garden is approx 210m2 with a lawn amounting to 100m2, so using the data above, it costs me approx £0.24/month. (edited)

This is an awful piece of kit. I bought one in a previous Amazon sale, and it arrived faulty. Returned it, got another unit with fault that had to be sent away for a Warranty repair.

Even after that, it's temperamental and keeps claiming the boundary wire is broken (though a quick test with a multi-meter shows it's not). I tried to get a further warranty repair for this, but Flymo refused and said it is either my boundary wire, or I broke the mower.

Not worth it at any price, Flymo support just do not care about how poor a quality product it is.

I have one and have it cutting everyday - no clippings as it’s literally cutting mm’s so it falls back and nourishes the lawn.

Worth every penny! Mine cuts three times a week. Lawn maintenance is now a quick strim of the edges once every couple of weeks. Grass never looked better.

Great price of kit. I’ve struggled to keep my lawn looking nice for the last three years. This cuts three times a week and the grass looks superb.

One of the best time saving products I have bought. Takes a bit to set up but once done saved me so much time and it actually makes the lawn more healthy and looking better than ever.

Any tips on set up and does it cope with things like a trampoline in the middle of the garden

I see a lot of positive comments , however as a user of robotic lawnmower ( much more expensive than this one ) , I have found it a waste of money. I have 3 kids and they have loads of stuff in the garden. You have to clear the garden everytime you want to put this on. Yes it has sensors but it ends up missing big chunks of the garden.

Be prepared to use a strimmer if you have edges with plants in there as it doesn't do to well cutting grass next to it. I found it's very good cutting near the patio to the edges.

Also setting it up was a challenge. The amount of time I snapped the perimeter wiring , I ended up using joints to stick the broken bits.

I have a robot vacuum cleaner and that is a joy, but unfortunately I can not say the same for the lawnmower.

Maybe my pain is driven by a water logged garden being a new built

Doesn't stop this being a good deal , so have some heat (edited)
